Whether it’s Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or James Gunn’s recent DC Universe property, Hollywood continues to adapt numerous IPs to the big screen, with various results. Major franchises from the 1980s have also been given their due in cinema.
The sci-fi movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is coming to a new streaming service! Released in theaters on June 9, 2023, the film will be available to stream for free on Pluto TV in the U.S. starting July 1.

Steven Caple Jr.’s Rise of the Beasts earned $441.7 million worldwide. Of that, $157.3 million came from North American theaters, and $284.3 million came from international sales. The film was made with a budget estimated between $195 and $200 million.
The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts cast features Anthony Ramos as Noah Diaz, Tobe Nwigwe as Reek, Dominique Fishback as Elena Wallace, Sarah Stiles as Jillian Robinson, Luna Lauren Vélez as Breanna Diaz, Aidan Devine as Bishop, Michael Kelly as Agent Burke, and Lucas Huarancca as Amaru.
The movie features a star-studded voice cast for the Transformers characters, including Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal, Peter Dinklage as Scourge, and the returning Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. Other notable voices include Pete Davidson as Mirage, Michelle Yeoh as Airazor, Liza Koshy as Arcee, Colman Domingo as Unicron, John DiMaggio as Stratosphere, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez as Nightbird, Cristo Fernández as Wheeljack, and Tongayi Chirisa as Cheetor.
Graeme Guttmann at ScreenRant reviewed Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, noting that while the movie had some good moments, they were lost in familiar territory. He felt the film largely echoed elements from the previous six Transformers movies, ultimately feeling repetitive.
Currently, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has a 51% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audiences seem to like it much more, giving the film a score of 91%.
