Fear the Spotlight is Coming to PC, Consoles on October 22

As a seasoned gamer with memories etched deep into the annals of classic horror gaming, the announcement of “Fear the Spotlight” has sent a shiver down my spine and sparked a twinkle of excitement in my eyes. With roots in the golden era of PS1-inspired horror masterpieces like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Clocktower, this game promises to take me back to the thrilling days of huddling in fear around dimly lit screens, jumping at every creak and groan.

Game developers Cozy Game Pals in partnership with Blumhouse Games have set an official launch date for their retro-style horror game titled “Fear the Spotlight”. The announcement was made during Sony’s State of Play event, and the game is scheduled to be released across various platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on October 22.

In “Fear the Spotlight,” we follow the thrilling journey of characters Vivian and Amy who are forced to flee after a séance turns disastrous within the walls of Sunnyside High. As they navigate through the school while staying hidden from its terrifying residents, they encounter puzzles that must be solved in order to escape.

Initially, the game was exclusively available on personal computers. Later, after partnering with Blumhouse Games for additional content development, the studio removed the initial PC version. This collaboration and resource acquisition enabled them to expand the game’s availability across multiple platforms.

The game “Fear the Spotlight” immerses players in a nostalgic trip back to the PlayStation 1 era through its retro art style, as it was well-known for hosting horror games such as the iconic titles “Resident Evil,” “Silent Hill,” and “Clocktower” series.
