While Alex Karev was living it up on the farm with Izzie Stevens and their twins, in reality, Justin Chambers’ children have grown up. We’re unsure of where or how this happened, but it seems that time has passed for them outside of the fictional world.

As a devoted admirer and an integral part of the production team for several turbulent seasons filled with off-screen drama (such as Isaiah Washington reportedly using offensive language towards me), I found myself grappling with certain storylines involving George and the scarcity of his presence in the early stages of season five. Currently, Rachael Taylor is primarily recognized for her role as Jessica Jones’ friend Trish in the Netflix series “Jessica Jones” and also in the miniseries “The Defenders.
As the once-estranged wife of Derek, who transitioned into a beloved character on Grey’s Anatomy with her own spinoff, I was last seen as a regular cast member during the somewhat contentious musical episode in season seven. In this episode, I played a crucial role in saving Callie after her car accident. Additionally, I made appearances in the 2012 episode where Meredith imagined her mother was still alive and married to Richard, while Derek and I were still struggling with our marriage. I also returned for an arc in 2023.
She ended Private Practice married to Jake (Benjamin Bratt) with a son, Henry.

Chyler Leigh made an appearance in the wittily titled show “Taxi Brooklyn” prior to assuming the tough character of Alex Danvers in “Supergirl”.
In the eighth season, Mark, who was often called McSteamy, didn’t die instantly in the plane crash. Instead, he managed to make it back to the hospital where he lived for a few days despite his critical injuries. The hospital has since been named in memory of both him and Lexie, with the survivors using their lawsuit settlement money to purchase it as a tribute following the plane crash. Mark and Lexie came back together in spirit, visiting Meredith while she was in a coma, suggesting that they found each other again after death.
Eric Dane departed from his previous show to take on a leading role in TNT’s “The Last Ship,” which concluded after five seasons in November 2018. Currently, he is acting alongside Zendaya and Storm Reid on the HBO series “Euphoria.
Recall the OGYN resident who used to date Jo during season nine? Their relationship took a turn for the worse when he discovered her secrets she hadn’t shared with him, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation. This fight ended up with Jason suffering head injuries after falling and hitting his head in the hospital. Alex managed to dissuade him from pressing charges against Jo, and since then, he hasn’t been seen or mentioned again.

However, she made a comeback in season 14 to aid Arizona in leaving the show, generously providing grant money to establish a women’s health center in New York.
Geena Davis starred in the Fox series The Exorcist in 2016, before her final return to Grey’s. In recent years, she has had recurring roles on Netflix’s GLOW and the animated She-Ra reboot series.
After the plane crash, Cristina Yang experienced a very difficult period and took a considerable amount of time to fully heal. Later on, she found out that it was impossible for her to win the Harper Avery award while working at that hospital, which made her contemplate moving on. Then, her old love, Preston Burke, invited her to Zurich to manage the advanced hospital he had established, allowing him to retire with his family. She eventually left after a farewell dance party with Meredith in season 10.

After leaving Grey’s, he has appeared in various projects such as Bridget Jones’ Baby, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair miniseries, the show Devils, commercials that subtly reference his past role as a TV doctor, and there are rumors of a follow-up to Enchanted featuring him.

Leah Murphy, the unfortunate resident, faced numerous challenges before her termination at the end of season 10 due to her unsuitability for the role of a surgeon. Penelope’s stint at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital started on a challenging note and didn’t improve over time. Initially, she came in as Callie’s new love interest, but her past association with the doctor who had supposedly killed Derek cast a long shadow over her. To make matters worse, she had to work under the watch of the often gruff Meredith. As of now, it appears that Penelope and Callie have parted ways (which explains Arizona’s relocation to New York). However, their relationship was destined for trouble from the start.
Samantha Sloyan made a name for herself by playing the role of Leigh in ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, and she has also been seen on series like ‘SEAL Team’ and ‘The Rookie’.
In Season 13, Minnick stepped in as Richard Webber’s replacement for training the residents, but her strict adherence to rules and lack of empathy made everyone dislike her intensely – even Meredith was suspended because of it. When she became so fixated on protocol that she failed to inform the police about a resident missing during a fire, she was terminated from her position. The incident almost proved fatal for Stephanie.
Later on, Marika Dominczyk teamed up with her spouse (formerly of “Grey’s Anatomy”) Scott Foley in the brief-running ABC series titled “Whiskey Cavalier“.
As a committed follower, I made the choice to venture out and discover uncharted territories, embarking on something fresh at the conclusion of season 13. This decision was spurred by my near-fatal experience in a fire, coupled with months of emotional exhaustion and mourning the loss of my boyfriend Kyle (Wilmer Valderrama).
In 2018, Jerrika Hinton appeared in the brief run of the HBO drama titled “Here and Now,” and subsequently became part of the cast for the Amazon series “Hunters,” portraying a character who tracks down Nazis.
In the early part of season 14, Nathan departed from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, as his heart’s deepest desire was realized when his fiancée, Megan Hunt, who had been held captive for ten years, came back. The two of them, along with the child Megan had adopted during her time abroad, relocated to Los Angeles. This event marked the end of a promising relationship between Nathan and Meredith, but it was an incredibly joyous conclusion to Riggs’ storyline.
As a devoted admirer, I myself had the pleasure of making an appearance in Britney Spears’ music video for “Toxic”. Later on, I found myself immersed in the world of Virgin River, where I graced the series with my presence.
