*Warning – contains full spoilers for all eight episodes of Two Weeks in August.*
You can now stream all eight episodes of the BBC drama Two Weeks in August on BBC iPlayer. The series follows a group vacation that quickly turns into a disaster.
The show follows Zoe, played by Jessica Raine, as she and her husband, Dan (Damien Molony), travel to a villa in Greece to join their friends: Solomon (Nicholas Pinnock), Jess (Antonia Thomas), Nat (Leila Farzad), and Jacob (Hugh Skinner).
The show quickly becomes chaotic, and Zoe experiences a lot of ups and downs. Despite all the drama, is a second season possible for this group?
Read on for everything you need to know about the potential for a Two Weeks in August season 2.
Will there be a Two Weeks in August season 2?

Look, as much as I loved “Two Weeks in August,” I’m not holding my breath for a second season. The first season really felt like a complete story – everything wrapped up pretty nicely. Honestly, after all the drama and everything that group went through on that vacation, it’s hard to imagine them wanting to do another two weeks together, you know? It felt like a perfect, self-contained little movie, and I’m okay if they leave it at that.
While it seems unlikely, a reunion isn’t impossible. Hugh Skinner and Leila Farzad, the stars of ‘Jacob and Nat,’ have both indicated they’d be open to returning for more.
In a statement to TopMob, Skinner expressed his willingness to take on additional work if opportunities became available.
Farzad agreed, but explained that whether or not there would be a second season was up to the show’s creator, Catherine Shepherd.
She said everyone enjoyed working together and would be happy to reunite. However, she wasn’t sure if there were any more stories to tell with these characters, suggesting that if there were, they’d need a completely new setting.
Skinner pointed out that fixing this could lead to new issues. Farzad agreed, explaining that while things are currently resolved, that resolution could fall apart, leading to a repeat of the problems. However, he added that everyone enjoys working together and would welcome another opportunity to do so.
We’ll let you know if we get any news about whether “Two Weeks in August” might continue.
When would a potential Two Weeks in August season 2 be released?

A second season of Two Weeks in August could be produced fairly quickly. The show was initially announced in February 2025, and the episodes were released a little over a year afterward.
Despite initial impressions, TopMob Shepherd revealed the series was actually in development for “many years,” describing the writing process as both lengthy and difficult.
I originally envisioned this as a movie, but after discussing it with someone at the BBC, they suggested it would work better as a TV series. I then wrote the first two episodes and spent several years developing the project with different artists.
It took a long time to bring this project to life. The script was really complex, with a large cast of characters and interwoven storylines, which made it a tough undertaking. The initial setup was quite difficult, and it took years of work before it was finally finished.
Now that the series is established and the first season has shown its potential, we expect a second season to be produced more quickly. However, it likely won’t be as fast a process as with some other shows.
We’re currently thinking a release in late 2027 might be possible, but this is just our best guess right now. We’ll update this page with any official news about the show as soon as we have it.
Who would return to star in a potential Two Weeks in August season 2?

If “Two Weeks in August” came back for another season, we’d definitely anticipate seeing the six main characters return: Zoe (played by Jessica Raine), Dan (Damien Molony), Jess (Antonia Thomas), Solomon (Nicholas Pinnock), Nat (Leila Farzad), and Jacob (Hugh Skinner).
Dylan Brady’s character, Will, might reappear, considering how his storyline finished with Jacob. Plus, Avery could return to spend another vacation with her father, Solomon.
We probably won’t see characters tied to the specific vacation spot again, like local Jon (Khalil Gharbia) and expats Flick (Dolly Wells) and James (Tom Goodman-Hill). It doesn’t seem like the group will return to that location – especially after the events of that trip.
Right now, this is just guesswork, but here’s who we might see return from season 1 if there’s a season 2:
- Jessica Raine as Zoe
- Damien Molony as Dan
- Antonia Thomas as Jess
- Nicholas Pinnock as Solomon
- Leila Farzad as Nat
- Hugh Skinner as Jacob
- Dylan Brady as Will
- Maria Almeida as Avery
