Anne Hathaway Addresses “Distracting” Facelift Rumors

Anne Hathaway isn’t against the idea of plastic surgery.

The actress from The Idea of You has said she hasn’t had any cosmetic surgery, but she’s open to the possibility of having procedures done later on.

Anne recently addressed online rumors about getting a facelift, telling Elle magazine that she hadn’t undergone any major medical procedure. She explained she wanted to clarify that these speculations were untrue and that she hadn’t made a significant decision about her health.

Anne Hathaway creates the appearance of sculpted cheekbones by simply pulling her hair back into two tight braids underneath her hair.

Just because Anne hasn’t had the procedure yet doesn’t mean she won’t consider it later. She shares two children—10-year-old Jonathan and 6-year-old Jack—with her husband, Adam Shulman.

She added, almost as an afterthought, that she hadn’t ruled out getting a facelift in the future.

The actress from The Devil Wears Prada decided to speak out about the plastic surgery rumors because she felt they were becoming a distraction.

That said, if the 43-year-old had it her way, she’d stay tight-lipped.

She admitted she’d prefer to stay private and avoid attention, but the amount of gossip and rumors forced her to share her side of the story.

She admitted she’ll likely always second-guess her choices, wondering if she should have shared something online. She also questioned if she should have simply pursued what would have made her happier and more self-assured while walking the red carpet.

She enjoys watching gossip spread, but occasionally it’s important to stop it.

People today seem very sure of their beliefs, often acting as if those beliefs are definitely true—whether they are or not.

The Euphoria actress confirmed in December 2025 that she hasn’t had a boob job.

You know, I was recently on Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test with Amanda Seyfried, and she just had to ask the question everyone’s been wondering: are my breasts real? It was definitely a moment! She just blurted it out, and honestly, I was a little surprised, but hey, it’s all in good fun.

“Yes,” Sydney responded. “I’ve never gotten any work done anywhere.”

She shared in December 2025 that she’s never gotten filler.

She advised against excessive cosmetic procedures like surgery, fillers, and Botox, telling People magazine that a more subtle approach is always best. She emphasized taking it easy and avoiding overdoing it.

Oh my gosh, I’ve been following Alabama Barker for a while now, and she’s so open about everything! She’s talked about getting lip fillers, which, honestly, good for her if it makes her happy! But she’s been super clear that she hasn’t had any actual surgery, and I totally respect that. It’s amazing she’s so confident and willing to share, even with all the attention on her being Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler’s daughter.

In February 2024, she posted bikini photos on Instagram. One user commented, expressing concern that she’d had cosmetic surgery at a young age and hoping she wouldn’t have too much done, while also saying she looks good now.

In September 2025, the rapper Drake denied rumors he’d had plastic surgery on his abs. He explained that fans thought they looked more defined because he’d used a photo editing app.

He explained on Bobbi Althoff’s podcast, Not This Again, that he’d just come from the gym when the photo was taken and was visibly sweaty. He thought he might have also increased the color saturation in the picture.

He added, “I think I hit it too hard. They don’t look like that.”

While Drake noted that people go under the knife “all the time,” he isn’t one of them.

He added that people have been saying he had a Brazilian Butt Lift, and they’ve even started calling him ‘BBL Drizzy’.

The supermodel opened up about why she’s all about embracing her skin at every age.

In an August 2023 Instagram post, she shared a photo of her natural face, explaining she’s 58 years old and hasn’t had any fillers, Botox, or cosmetic surgery. She emphasized her decision to age naturally without any facial injections or procedures, and highlighted the use of professional makeup and good lighting in the photo.

Sometimes, I actually like seeing my face change with age. I feel like the lines and wrinkles give me character, and that feels like a good trade for losing some of my youthful looks.

The Oscar winner revealed whether or not she’s gotten plastic surgery.

In an August 2023 interview with Allure, she explained that her face is naturally changing with age, and she embraces it. It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.’

The actress from Magic Mike recently clarified that she has not had Botox. She stated simply, “No Botox!” during an appearance on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast.

I was so relieved to hear Lana Del Rey address the rumors! Someone commented on how beautiful her natural nose is, and she confirmed she’s never had any work done. It’s great to see her shut down those plastic surgery claims and embrace her natural features.

In a September 2025 Instagram post, Lana shared that she’s never had surgery or been under anesthesia, marking her 15th consecutive year without it. She also mentioned that getting filler, like her doctor used to do, to build up the bridge of the nose can create a taller, smoother appearance in just seven minutes, according to a screenshot from People magazine.

Lana mentioned a nonsurgical rhinoplasty, which the Cleveland Clinic describes as using injectable fillers to reshape the nose. Unlike traditional rhinoplasty, it’s less invasive, but the effects are temporary, typically lasting up to six months.

The well-known supermodel, famous since the 1990s, filed a lawsuit in 2021 against Zeltiq Aesthetics. She claimed that a fat-reduction treatment she received from them in 2015 and 2016 caused lasting damage to her appearance. The case was settled out of court in 2022.

The actress from Friends had surgery as a young woman to correct a deviated septum, but she’s publicly expressed her disapproval of Botox and other facial fillers.

As someone who’s observed the entertainment industry for years, I’ve definitely noticed a huge pressure to look eternally young. Sadly, I’ve seen firsthand how many women go to extreme lengths – and I’m talking about procedures – to chase that impossible standard. Honestly, I feel lucky to have learned from what I’ve witnessed. It’s reinforced my decision to embrace aging naturally and avoid anything artificial. I simply don’t want to go down that road.

The actress said she’s pretty much explored all options. While she’s hesitant about surgery now, she’d be open to anything when she turns 50. However, she won’t be repeating her Botox experience, joking that it made her look unnatural, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2013.

In a 2012 interview with InStyle magazine, actress and Charlie’s Angels star said, “Instead of struggling against things you can’t change, simply acknowledge them and move forward.”

In a 2011 interview with The Telegraph, the Love Actually actress explained her frustration with society’s obsession with youth, saying, “I’m not trying to change who I am. We live in a culture where everyone feels pressured to look 30, even when they’re 60.”

The Academy Award-winning actress explained to MORE magazine in 2007 that plastic surgery simply wasn’t for her. She clarified she had no objections to others choosing it, saying, ‘Everyone should do what makes them happy.’ However, for her personally, it came down to how she saw herself. She’d prefer people notice her natural features, even if they weren’t considered ‘perfect,’ rather than assume she was insecure enough to alter them. She’d rather be known for who she is, not for trying to hide perceived flaws.

In a 2011 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the singer explained that she believed encouraging people to get plastic surgery to fix perceived flaws is far more damaging than creatively altering one’s body through things like tattoos or piercings.

She firmly stated she would never surrender. As an actress, she explained, she needed to maintain the ability to express emotions and didn’t want to lose that through any procedure.
