After some details about the game started appearing online, IO Interactive has now shared the first 13 minutes of gameplay from 007 First Light. The footage shows the beginning of the first mission, where Bond is working undercover with the Royal Navy. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned – the helicopters are shot down, and Bond seems to be the sole survivor.
Bond is shot down by a mysterious and well-equipped enemy group focused on a camp hidden on the other side of a mountain – information he receives from MI6. The game begins by teaching players how to move, take cover, and hide in tall grass to avoid being seen. After falling off a cliff, Bond discovers the camp is actually the site of a large-scale recovery operation led by MI6.
The objects they were recovering are top secret, and it’s unclear what this unknown group wants with them. Before the mission really gets underway, Bond grabs a parka to stay warm and even uses his Montenegrin language skills to trick a guard. Overall, it’s a fantastic introduction that shows how Bond first connected with MI6.
You won’t have to wait much longer to play! 007 First Light comes out on May 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. If you have the Deluxe Edition, you can start playing a day earlier, on May 26th. For more information, check out our detailed article or watch the launch trailer.
