The Top 10 Chase Cards from Pokemon TCG’s Chaos Rising, Ranked by How Much They’ll Cost You

The newest expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, called Mega Evolution – Chaos Rising, launched on May 22nd. Fans and collectors have been heading to stores to grab the latest cards. This set is on the smaller side, containing around TK cards, but it’s still expected to include some highly sought-after and valuable additions.

The Chaos Rising set just came out, and we’re already seeing which Pokémon cards are most sought after by collectors and resellers. While sealed boxes and packs are currently the most popular items, a few individual cards are quickly becoming highly valuable. Prices and demand should even out as more cards become available on sites like eBay and TCG Player, but right now, here are the most expensive chase cards from Pokémon TCG‘s Chaos Rising, ranked by price.

10) Frogadier (Illustration Rare)

Okay, so the new Chaos Rising set is awesome, and I’m really hyped about the new Illustration Rares for Froakie and Frogadier! They look incredible, especially fitting with the whole Greninja theme. Honestly, these cards are super popular – if you’re building a Greninja deck, you need them. This particular Illustration Rare shows Frogadier speeding across the water, and the artwork is just really vibrant and cool.

The Illustration Rare version of this card isn’t actually that hard to find. However, it’s still one of the most expensive cards in the set, recently selling for around $19 without being professionally graded. While the price has come down slightly from pre-release sales, it remains a highly sought-after card from the Chaos Rising set.

9) Froakie (Illustration Rare)

Froakie currently ranks ninth on our list, and it’s essential if you’re aiming to collect the complete set of full-art Greninja cards. This card is also one of the most visually appealing Illustration Rares in the Chaos Rising expansion, featuring a cute depiction of the Water-type starter Pokémon underwater, looking thoughtful. It’s easy to understand why Pokémon TCG collectors would want to add this card to their collections.

An ungraded Froakie card is currently selling for around $25, but prices are fluctuating quite a bit since it’s a new card. Even as the market stabilizes, I expect this card to remain highly sought after. While it isn’t as rare as some of the full-art cards in the set, its appealing artwork and the popularity of Froakie as a starter Pokémon make it very desirable.

8) Mega Greninja ex (Ultra Rare)

Since the Chaos Rising expansion focuses on Greninja, it’s no surprise there are several Greninja cards available. In fact, three of them are among the most sought-after cards in the set. I personally would have expected a certain Greninja card to rank higher, as I prefer its artwork. However, the rarer Special Illustration Rare cards are much harder to find, so its current ranking makes sense when considering how scarce they are.

Currently, an ungraded Ultra Rare Mega Greninja ex card is selling for about $28. This is only a little more expensive than its earlier forms. If you’re looking to collect the whole Greninja line without spending a fortune or opening tons of packs, now is a good time to buy these cards individually. However, I expect the price might go down in the next few weeks, as these cards aren’t as rare as some others.

7) Roxie’s Performance (Special Illustration Rare)

Let’s take a look at one of the special cards from the Chaos Rising set – a Special Illustration Rare! This card features stunning full artwork of Roxie, a popular Gym Leader from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. The image shows her fully immersed in a rock-themed setting, complete with bright neon colors and a backdrop of toxic sludge. If you’re a fan of Roxie, Poison-type Pokémon, or simply enjoy a cool rock style, this card is a standout from the Chaos Rising expansion.

Roxie’s Special Illustration Rare isn’t too expensive on the resale market right now. It’s currently selling for around $38, which is down from earlier sales that were closer to $45. The price might stay around this level if the card isn’t super rare. However, because it’s harder to pull from packs in the Chaos Rising set, the price could potentially increase a little.

6) AZ’s Tranquility (Special Illustration Rare)

Many Pokémon fans, both old and new, will recognize AZ from his appearance in the new game, Pokémon Legends: Z-A. With Mega Floette ex being introduced in the Chaos Rising expansion, including AZ feels like a natural fit. The card’s artwork beautifully captures the close connection between AZ and his Floette in a lovely garden setting. Honestly, I’m surprised this card isn’t already one of the most valuable Secret Rare cards in the set.

The resale prices for the AZ Special Illustration Rare card are fluctuating quite a bit. Currently, ungraded copies are selling for around $50, although some sellers are asking $55 or higher. Over the next few weeks, the value of the Chaos Rising SIRs will likely change as more information about how rare they are becomes available. It’s possible the demand and price for this card could go either up or down.

5) Mega Floette ex (Special Illustration Rare)

This expansion of the Pokemon TCG introduces several new Mega Evolutions, and Mega Floette is one of them. Many players are excited to collect this beautifully illustrated rare card featuring a new Mega ex Pokemon. I think the Mega Floette card is particularly striking, with its adorable yet determined look and vibrant background that really captures its important role in the story of Pokemon Legends Z-A.

Mega Floette ex’s price is still changing, but it’s shaping up to be one of the most consistently valuable cards, staying above $60. Recently, ungraded copies have been listed for around $64. As a key card from the Chaos Rising expansion and the first Mega Evolution card in the TCG, it’s likely its value will remain stable or even increase.

4) Mega Dragalge ex (Special Illustration Rare)

To be honest, Mega Dragalge isn’t my favorite Mega Evolution design. However, it’s one of the new Mega Pokémon appearing in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and featured in the Chaos Rising expansion, so its Special Illustration Rare (SIR) card is a highly sought-after chase card. The card’s artwork is full of vibrant swirls, and Mega Dragalge almost disappears within them – and its confident look suggests that was intentional.

A Dragon-type ZA Mega card would work really well with Roxie due to its Poison ability and matching colors. However, it’s likely to be expensive, following recent trends. An ungraded Mega Dragalge ex is currently selling for around $80, though prices vary quite a bit. Because it’s one of the rarer cards in the set, it’s expected to remain a valuable and sought-after card.

3) Cinccino ex (Special Illustration Rare)

I’m a bit surprised this card is currently one of the three most valuable from the Chaos Rising set. It features a cute illustration of Cinccino and is a Special Illustration Rare, but it’s remarkable that it’s more expensive than two newly released Mega Pokémon cards. The artwork is appealing, and the card’s ability and attack are decent. However, I’m not quite sure why it’s performing so well compared to other Special Illustration Rares in the set.

Currently, the Cinccino ex card from the Chaos Rising set is selling for around $88 to $90 if it hasn’t been professionally graded. However, not many of these cards have actually been sold, which suggests some sellers might be expecting a higher demand than there really is. Because of this, I think the price will likely decrease over time, which is great news for fans of Minccino who want to collect it.

2) Mega Greninja ex (Mega Hyper Rare)

It’s a bit surprising that the Mega Greninja ex card from Chaos Rising, which is typically the hardest card to find in a set, might not be as popular as other special cards. Despite being the most rare, its current value is slightly lower than another special version of Greninja. It’s hard to say why – perhaps collectors aren’t as excited about the fully gold design of these rare cards?

This highly sought-after card is currently selling for less than the most valuable card in the Chaos Rising set. Right now, ungraded copies are going for around $330. Many owners are likely choosing to have their cards professionally graded by PSA instead of selling them as-is. Because of this, the card’s price could increase significantly once graded copies become available, potentially making it one of the most valuable cards from the set.

1) Mega Greninja ex (Special Illustration Rare)

The most valuable card from the Chaos Rising set so far is the Mega Greninja ex Special Illustration Rare. Given that Mega Greninja is a highlight of this set, this isn’t surprising. The card’s colors are particularly striking, showcasing Mega Greninja in an impressive way. It also looks great alongside the other Illustration Rares in its evolutionary line, creating a visually appealing set of three Water-type Pokémon.

Okay, so right now, a SIR of Mega Greninja ex is going for around $480, give or take. I’ve been checking TCGplayer and prices are all over the place – some people are listing them for as low as $475, others are asking for $500. It’s clear the price hasn’t really settled yet, especially since we haven’t even seen many graded copies pop up. I’m really curious to see if the Mega Hyper Rare will eventually be worth more, at least for a perfect PSA 10. But as of today, this Mega Greninja ex is the most expensive card from the Chaos Rising set you can buy.
