Toy Story 5’s Woody, Buzz Lightyear and friends star on this week’s cover

Before streaming and endless options, families often watched the same movies over and over again on VHS. The Toy Story movies stand out as some of the few from recent years that everyone remembers and loves.

This week’s cover story celebrates the latest movie featuring Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang. Thirty years after their debut, these beloved characters still capture the hearts of both a new generation of children and the adults who grew up with them.

Toy Story is beloved because it captures a feeling everyone understands: the special bond we have with childhood toys and the challenges of growing up. These themes still resonate strongly with audiences as the series continues.

I was especially pleased Laura Rutkowski wrote our cover story. It was a dream come true for her, as she’s been a fan of these films and the world of Pixar her entire life.

I’ve always heard you shouldn’t meet your heroes, but reading about Laura’s experience, I’m reminded that sometimes, things can actually be even better than you imagined. Her genuine excitement really comes through in every conversation she had with the cast and the incredibly talented people at Pixar – you can just feel her passion on every page.

Before I finish, I’d like to share some fantastic snacks created by Max Halley, nicknamed ‘King of the sandwich,’ just for RT to enjoy during the England and Scotland World Cup games. I’ve tried them myself, and they’re delicious! It’s nice to have a perk of the job. Enjoy!

Also in this week’s TopMob:

  • Fancy a snack while you watch the footie? Sandwich maestro Max Halley presents two tempting titbits.
  • Meet the winners who picked up awards at the radio and audio industry’s big night.
  • Veteran American actor Clarke Peters on embracing British culture and falling out of love with the USA.
