After the initial update, Alkimia Interactive has just released a new patch for the Gothic 1 Remake on PlayStation 5.

This download is the Gothic 1 Remake update 1.000.004, which fixes problems with saved games and other technical issues.

Gothic 1 Remake Receives New Update on June 9

The development team announced on Discord that they’ve submitted a patch to Sony for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro to fix crashes and save game problems. They’re currently waiting for Sony’s final approval.

A detailed changelog isn’t available yet, but it’s expected to be released shortly. The developers also said they’ll share more information about the update for other platforms this week.

Besides the update released today, the game still has many bugs that are impacting players on all devices, including:

  • Achievements not popping properly
  • Two diggers that keep following players after a certain quest
  • Mordreg bug where he’s not where he’s supposed to be.
  • Kirgo not fighting the player
  • Frame rate drops
  • Controls not responding as intended

This is just the tip of the iceberg, as we’re sure there are a lot more issues affecting gamers.

Console Issues

PS5 and PS5 Pro performance

  • The team is aware of performance complaints.
  • They are investigating, but state that improvements will take time and are not something they can fix immediately.

PlayStation save deletion after crashes

  • The developers describe this as a highly critical issue.
  • They say a fix will be deployed as soon as a solution is found.

PC Issues

  • The team has received reports of some crashes on PC and is monitoring them.
  • They planned to release the first patch on Monday with some fixes.

All Platforms

  • The developers are monitoring player feedback about lockpicking.
  • They note that opinions are mixed and emphasize that lockpicking becomes significantly easier when players invest skill points into it.
