EastEnders and Game of Thrones favourites join starry cast of new Agatha Christie disappearance drama

I’m really excited about the new movie, Eleven Missing Days! It’s based on the true story of when Agatha Christie mysteriously vanished, and stars Vincent Cassel and Felicity Jones. I just heard they’ve announced even more actors who will be in it, which makes me even more eager to see it!

Among those joining the film are Say Nothing’s Ryan McParland, Game of Thrones‘s Alfie Allen, EastEnders’s Ben Hardy, The Brutalist’s Stacy Martin, He’s Watching You’s Nicole Elizabeth Berger and The Gorge’s Oliver Trevena.

Deadline announced the latest additions to the cast, and confirmed that filming will begin in the UK later this week.

I was absolutely captivated learning about the real story behind Agatha Christie’s disappearance! Apparently, back in December 1926, when she was incredibly famous, she just vanished from her own home, and it became a huge news story. It’s so strange to think about!

This mystery feels like it jumped straight out of an Agatha Christie novel. The story follows the investigation into a woman’s disappearance, and it quickly becomes clear that anyone close to her could be involved.

I just learned some exciting casting news! Kelly Jones is going to become Agatha Christie on screen, which is a fantastic choice. And, even better, Matthias Cassel is playing a retired detective – think a Hercule Poirot type – who gets pulled into the mystery of Christie’s own disappearance. It sounds like a really clever and intriguing setup!

The reasons behind Christie’s brief disappearance remain a mystery. Theories range from memory loss caused by a car accident to a trauma-induced dissociative state, sometimes called a fugue.

Directed by Bertie Ellwood, known for his work on Silo, and written by Ernesto Foronda, who penned Better Luck Tomorrow, the film adapts the book Agatha Christie and the Eleven Missing Days by Jared Cade.

The BBC recently revealed it’s creating a new television series based on Agatha Christie’s Poirot stories. Actor Edward Bluemel will star as a younger version of the famous detective in a show called Hercule.

Earlier this year, Netflix released another Agatha Christie story, ‘Seven Dials,’ featuring Bluemel. Plus, many more adaptations of Christie’s novels and stories are planned for the future.
