Enola Holmes is returning to Netflix this summer.

The newest trailer for Enola Holmes 3 arrived just weeks after the first one debuted on May 27th. Picking up sometime after the events of Enola Holmes 2, the film follows Enola as she investigates a new mystery while also preparing for her wedding to Tewkesbury.
As the couple moves closer to their wedding, Enola Holmes’ attention shifts to her brother, Sherlock, who has mysteriously disappeared. The trailer reveals Sherlock’s kidnapping, and now Enola must uncover who is responsible.
We don’t yet know who has kidnapped Sherlock, but Enola has a lead—Sherlock left clues to help her and Brown’s character find him. The trailer for the new movie also shows Dr. Watson, played by Himesh Patel, playing a more important role after his introduction in the 2022 film.
The third Enola Holmes movie brings back most of the original actors, but has a new director. Philip Barantini took over directing duties this time, and once again collaborated with Jack Thorne, who wrote the screenplay for both previous films and this latest installment.
Okay, so Netflix is teasing the next Enola Holmes film, and it sounds like we’re headed to Malta! From what they’re saying, this case is going to be a real doozy – much more complicated and dangerous than anything Enola’s tackled before. It looks like her personal life is going to get mixed up in the mystery too, which should make for a really compelling story. I’m definitely intrigued by the change of scenery and the promise of higher stakes.
The new Enola Holmes 3 movie will likely be much more serious and intense than the previous films, even though romance still plays a role. Director Harry Bradbeer was specifically chosen to give the series a more mature feel. It’s possible the storyline involving Sherlock’s kidnapping will contribute to this darker, more complex tone, making it different from the first two movies.
It’s currently unclear if Enola Holmes 3 will be the last movie in the series. While it’s unknown whether this summer’s release will be the final one, several actors – including Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Sam Patel, and Louis Partridge – are returning for the film.
Helena Bonham Carter returns as Eudoria, the mother of Enola and Sherlock Holmes, in the trailer for Enola Holmes 3. Sharon Duncan-Brewster is also back as Mira Troy, the notorious villain also known as Moriarty.
Enola Holmes 3 is scheduled to release on Netflix on July 1.
