Nintendo recently revealed a new trailer for Splatoon Raiders, their upcoming single-player Splatoon game. The trailer, available to watch below, shows off the Hideout Ship – the player’s main base – and introduces some of the characters who live there, including the group Deep Cut.
The trailer introduces the player character, known as The Mechanic, who teams up with the musical group Deep Cut to search for treasure throughout the Spirhalite Islands. Their journey will be filled with challenges, including battling the relentless Salmonids. Players will need to use unique weapons that fire paint to overcome these obstacles and defeat the Salmonids.
During gameplay, you’ll get help from Deep Cut, who will pilot a special mech called the Exploration Bot. This bot can assist you in several ways, like attacking enemies, launching you higher into the air, and using unique abilities. You’ll also have access to gadgets, such as automatic turrets, close-combat attacks, and even a protective ink shield. In addition to fighting regular Salmonid enemies, you’ll face challenging boss battles.
In Splatoon Raiders, you’ll improve your character by earning experience and leveling up, which will boost their abilities. You can also enhance your gadgets by using skill points and materials you collect to customize and upgrade them.
Nintendo will share more information about Splatoon Raiders in a dedicated presentation on June 30th. Leading up to the game’s release, daily comics on the Nintendo Today app will reveal story details. Plus, a special Splatfest event centered around Splatoon Raiders is coming to Splatoon 3.
