If you remember Muramasa on the Nintendo Wii, or its PS Vita port, then congratulations — you’ve got taste.
Vanillaware’s typically stunning action RPG is being remade as Muramasa: Revenant Blades, and it’s coming to PS5 in early 2027.
This isn’t just a refreshed version of the game; it’s more of a complete overhaul. It includes all six playable characters from the Vita version, even those that were originally added as downloadable content.
You’ll be able to play through each character’s story in any order, right from the start.
From what I’ve heard, they’ve tweaked the fighting and how weapons work. That’s gonna change how the game feels to play, and I’m curious to see if it throws the whole balance off or makes things run smoother.
And lastly, the whole thing’s been given a 4K resolution makeover.
