Capcom has finally revealed the highly anticipated expansion for Dragon’s Dogma, called Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. It will be released on October 9, 2026, and will also be available on the new Nintendo Switch 2, allowing both existing fans and new players to explore the world of Gransys.
The recently revealed trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen showcased a brand-new, challenging northern region called Norgan. This snow-covered land looks significantly more difficult than the original game, featuring treacherous mountains, blinding blizzards, and plenty of new monsters eager to test players.
The game features several dangerous creatures. One is a huge, woolly mammoth-like beast wielding a massive club and tusks, and it can unleash freezing breath that can immobilize both players and their companions. Players also face a mysterious creature that controls ice, as well as a strange, fire-breathing dragon distinguished by its sharp, beak-like mouth.
The reveal of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen confirms what fans have been suspecting for months. Players noticed hints earlier this year during the game’s second anniversary event – a strange figure in the artwork and a letter mentioning griffins coming from the north, initially mistranslated as ‘Organ.’ This speculation was further fueled by updates to the PC version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 discovered on Steam.
