Bitcoin’s Summer Siesta: Bulls Beware, the Circus is in Town!

Ah, the crypto circus! Where the clowns wear suits, the tightrope walkers juggle numbers, and the ringmaster, one Peter Brandt, waves his wand of charts with a flourish. Behold, the latest spectacle: the ProShares UltraShort Bitcoin ETF (SBIT), a contraption so cunning it allows investors to profit from the tears of Bitcoin bulls, doubled in leverage, no less! A true marvel of financial engineering, or as some might say, a trap for the unwary.

The chart, a gift from the oracle Dan Chesler to the sage Brandt, paints a picture as grim as a Moscow winter. Since the dawn of 2026, Bitcoin has tumbled 29.85%, while SBIT, the harbinger of doom, has soared 46.49%. A tale of two cities, indeed, where one’s loss is another’s caviar.

But the real drama, my dear reader, lies in the technical whispers. On the daily stage, SBIT has donned the costume of an inverted Head and Shoulders, a pattern so classic it could grace the walls of the Hermitage. A trend reversal, they say, to the upside-a dagger in the heart of the bulls.

Brandt’s Chart: A Masterpiece of Melancholy

At this very moment, the chart teases the resistance line at $61-$62, a threshold as precarious as a tightrope over the Volga. Should it break, a rally for SBIT awaits, and with it, a new wave of Bitcoin capitulation. Brandt, ever the pragmatist, reminds us that leveraged ETFs are the mathematical equivalent of a bear’s embrace-warm, but deadly.

“Whether you are a bull or bear on BTC, this should be an interesting chart to watch for SBIT,” Brandt mused, his tone as dry as a Martini at the Turbin household.

Bob Loukas, another prophet of the markets, echoes this sentiment. Analyzing Bitcoin’s cycles, he declares the market still mired in its bearish phase. Three to five months of sideways shuffling, he predicts, before the next cycle can even dream of taking flight. “Stay away from speculative assets,” he warns, his voice a siren’s call to caution.

The Bitcoin low could be in for the cycle, price wise only. Doesn’t need deeper.

But I’d argue strongly it’s going to need 3-5 months (sideways) to build a base from which the next Cycle can launch from.

And so, the summer rally, that fleeting mirage, is but a memory. The synchronization of Brandt’s and Loukas’s signals leaves no room for doubt: the bears have the upper hand. Should SBIT breach its resistance, the major players will freeze Bitcoin’s price near its lows, a frost that may last until the leaves turn in fall 2026.

In this grand theater of finance, the bulls are but players on a stage, their hopes as fleeting as a Moscow spring. The circus continues, and we, the audience, can only watch, popcorn in hand, as the drama unfolds.
