As a huge movie fan, I’m already counting down the days to December! We’re getting both Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Messiah on the 18th, which is amazing. But if you’re like me and completely obsessed with the world of Dune, you don’t have to wait that long to get your fix. BOOM! Studios is releasing a prequel series, and even better, a brand-new edition is coming out in September – and I’ve got an exclusive first look for you!
On September 8th, a new book collecting the first three issues of Dune: House Corrino will be released in softcover. Written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson (sons of original Dune author Frank Herbert) with artwork by Simone Ragazzoni and a cover by Raymond Swanland, this series launched in 2024 and is based on their 2001 novel of the same name. Dune: House Corrino is the third book in the “House Trilogy,” following Dune: House Atreides and Dune: House Harkonnen. This release is perfectly timed for fans as anticipation builds for the movie premiere of Dune: Messiah.
Dune: House Corrino Offers a Closer Look at Major Conflict

BOOM! Studios presents the final volume in the Dune prequel trilogy, Dune: House Corrino Vol. 1. This story reveals the history of House Corrino, once the most powerful family in the universe, and their influence on the events leading up to the original Dune. The conflict intensifies as House Harkonnen escalates their attacks on the Fremen, while the Bene Gesserit secretly manipulate events to guide their chosen messiah and the mother of a key figure. Written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson with art by Simone Ragazzoni, this volume concludes the prequel series to the iconic science fiction novel.
I got a sneak peek at the new Dune: House Corrino book, and wow, it jumps right into the action! The very first pages show a Fremen attack, and you immediately get a sense of how much is on the line. It’s just a small taste of everything that’s going to happen, and I can’t wait to read the whole thing!
Dune: House Corrino Is a Great Way to Prepare for Dune: Messiah

Even though Dune: House Corrino doesn’t directly connect to the final movies in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series, it’s still a great read before you see them. The book takes place right before the events of Dune and provides a deeper understanding of the complex relationships and political landscape that lead to the downfall of House Atreides. It offers helpful background information, particularly as Dune: Messiah will explore the aftermath of Emperor Paul Atreides’ war and the conspiracies threatening his power.
Although Dune: Messiah isn’t the final book in the Dune series, it’s currently planned as the end of Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptation. If you want to continue the story beyond Dune: Messiah, there are three additional books available. Plus, with the release of Dune: House Corrino, fans have even more to discover about the Dune universe, both before and after the main storyline—which is great news for fans!
Dune: House Corrino Vol. 1 goes on sale September 8th.
