1923’s Brandon Sklenar, who plays the character Spencer Dutton in Yellowstone’s prequel series, has chosen not to watch Harrison Ford’s recent role in Shrinking on Apple TV Plus, as he wanted to maintain his personal image of Ford as Jacob Dutton from the show.
He stated, “I haven’t had a chance to watch Shrinking yet, as Harrison Ford is essential as Jacob [Dutton] for me. I prefer to focus on my own narrative instead.
1923’s Ford character, who portrays the weathered patriarch of the Dutton family, has been juggling various roles lately. Notably, he’s received praise for his performance in Apple TV+’s comedy series Shrinking, and he’s also assumed the role of President Thunderbolt Ross in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe production, Captain America: New World Order.
Of course, going beyond Ford’s latest performances, we can’t forget his vast collection of legendary roles like Han Solo from Star Wars and the daring archaeologist lead character in the Indiana Jones movies.
In the second season, Sklenar seemed intent on not dwelling on past performances as he collaborated with Ford. The storyline follows Spencer as he endeavors to reunite with his family, who are headed by Jacob Dutton (played by Ford) and Cara Dutton (portrayed by Helen Mirren), at their ranch in Montana.
The second season coming up will wrap up the tale set in 1923, which means it will also signal the final chapter in Ford’s adventure through Yellowstone.
This version keeps the original meaning while using simpler and more colloquial language to make it easier for readers to understand.
It remains uncertain whether his character will survive until the series finale, either dead or alive. Notably, the creator of Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan, has a track record for dramatic deaths in previous Yellowstone finales.
In a potential scenario, it seems Spencer from Skelenar, as envisioned by Sheridan, might have a chance to appear in some upcoming spin-offs that are currently being developed.
