In a striking display of contrasting creative approaches, authors Deniz Camp and Cody Ziglar have crafted a script for this book that underscores their unique talents. As I delved into the comic’s narrative, I found myself reflecting on its resemblance to a comedic sequence of mishaps. The Wakandans encounter a series of misunderstandings with Miles, Wasp, and Ant-Man, which escalates into a confrontation. Meanwhile, Miles’s sister is placed in the care of a SHIELD agent who aims to recruit her, but ends up being killed by Silver Samurai, leaving Miles unable to locate his sibling. This crossover episode showcases textbook techniques, and while it’s undeniably entertaining, it falls short of expectations in comparison to other Marvel titles that have managed to rise above the conventional storytelling patterns. Despite the Ultimate books’ success in transcending standard Marvel formulas, this issue fails to match that level of distinction and doesn’t evoke the same sense of uniqueness as it should.

It’s not uncommon that humor in comedy and anime can miss its mark due to cultural nuances or mistranslations. In a recent installment of the revived series, “Phineas and Ferb,” Baljeet discovers a garden gnome figure reminiscent of a certain enchanting creature from the initial episode of “Gravity Falls” – Schmebulock. This gnome resembles Schmebulock strikingly, causing ripples among Mystery Shack enthusiasts. In the original series, Schmebulock left quite an impression on Dipper and Mabel due to its peculiar behavior towards their understanding of garden gnomes. However, in a more tranquil depiction, Schmebulock’s people from “Gravity Falls” pose less of a threat to the siblings in the “Phineas and Ferb” rendition, as portrayed in the statue you can see below.

One characteristic that has been hard to find nowadays is the syndicated sci-fi series “Time Trax.” The story revolves around Darien Lambert, a future lawman portrayed by Dale Midkiff, who hunts down time-traveling outlaws from 2193. It aired for two seasons before disappearing and gradually slipping away from our memory. Although it has a small group of dedicated fans, “Time Trax” never gained widespread popularity, which might explain why it’s tough to locate the series today. However, you can still watch the show if you look hard enough, just not online.
