The popular fantasy series Wistoria: Wand and Sword, based on the light novel by Fujino Omori (also known for Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?), recently returned for its second season. New episodes are available every Sunday at 1:30 A.M. PT on Crunchyroll, shortly after they air in Japan. You can watch in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia. The English dub of Season 2 will be released two weeks after the original, with new dubbed episodes dropping at the same time as the subtitled versions. Before the start of a major story arc, a recap video was released to remind viewers of everything that’s happened so far. This new arc begins with Episode 7, and after it aired, the author, Fujino Omori, shared a message with fans. Omori recalled advice from a senior writer – that becoming a writer is just the beginning – and thanked viewers for their support, encouraging them to tune in for the next episode.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 Enters a Crucial Phase
Season one simply set the stage, showing Will’s difficult journey through magic school despite having no magical ability of his own. He dreams of reaching the Magia Vander tower and finding his childhood love, Elfaria. After the action-packed events of season one, the beginning of season two centered around the graduation ceremony and a major attack on the capital city during the Terminalia.
Will almost didn’t get the opportunity to enter the tower after graduating, and was disappointed when he failed to qualify. Just as he was dealing with this setback, the capital city was attacked during New Year’s celebrations by a terrifyingly powerful monster. Forced to act, Will found the courage within himself and took up a sword to fight. The loss of his friend, Rosty, and his own failure left Will feeling hopeless about the future. However, the academy recognized his efforts, and at the last possible moment, granted him a chance to ascend the tower.
Will still faces significant obstacles in his quest to become a Magia Vander, and remains far behind Elfaria despite entering the tower. As his journey progresses, the world braces for the return of flames when the barrier finally falls. The next episode will likely show which group decides to support the solitary sword.
