Forza Horizon 6 Team Looking Into Drivatar AI Balance, AMD GPU Frame Rate Issues, and More

Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 6 has had a fantastic launch, attracting over six million players in its first week (including those with early access). Despite receiving widespread critical praise – it’s currently the top-rated game of 2026 on Metacritic – the developers are still working on improvements, such as fine-tuning the AI of the Drivatar opponents.

The team is looking into reports that the AI opponents are moving too quickly, particularly on harder difficulty levels. They’re also working on a fix for performance problems some players are experiencing with AMD graphics cards on PC to boost frame rates.

As a PC player, I’ve been seeing some issues like crackling sound, crashes, and those frustrating ‘Invalid Loading’ errors. The good news is the developers already pushed out a fix for the loading errors, and they’re working on a solution for the audio problems. They’ve also figured out that some crashes are happening because people are using older operating systems or hardware that doesn’t quite meet the game’s requirements. Basically, if you’re on an Nvidia card, you’ll need at least a Turing GPU to run it, and unfortunately, those of us with older AMD Polaris or Vega cards are out of luck.

This is just the start of ongoing support for the game, with Playground planning to add more cars and content in the future. The first seasonal Festival Playlist, themed around Japan, is now available, and a new one will be released monthly. In July, players can look forward to the Italian Passion Car Pack, featuring the 2025 Ferrari F80, the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB4 Spider, the 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, and the 1990 Alfa Romeo SE 048SP.
