Warner Bros. Discovery revealed last year that it would be put up for sale following a planned division, but its situation hasn’t improved.
The network started 2026 strong with the second season of The Pitt and the premiere of a new Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. More fantasy content is on the way this summer, with HBO Max recently sharing a preview of the upcoming House of the Dragon. On May 24th, they also hinted at even more shows, including Lanterns, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, and content based on Harry Potter.
HBO Max’s Coming Soon Preview Is Filled With Hits
The recent 2026 preview didn’t include any brand new footage from the series. While HBO Max released a first look in March, they’ve continued to delight fans with a behind-the-scenes documentary and a new podcast about the films. The clips shared so far, taken from the initial teaser, show Harry at Hogwarts, his wand fitting with Mr. Ollivander (played by Anton Lesser), and scenes of him going to the Quidditch stadium.
Footage also showed Kyle Chandler in costume for the upcoming superhero series, Lanterns. This new show is part of the DC Universe and will premiere after the Supergirl movie, which is set to release on August 16th.
A new clip was shown for the upcoming Big Bang Theory spinoff, Stuart Saves the Universe. The series promises a fresh direction with plenty of action and special effects. Kevin Sussman returns as Stuart, and other fan-favorite characters will also appear. It premieres on July 23rd.
A preview of upcoming shows for 2026 also revealed new details about several series. These include Season 4 of The Gilded Age, Hard Knocks: Training Camp featuring the Seattle Seahawks (premiering in August), and Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness which will debut on June 26. Additionally, Monsters of God, The Man Will Burn, War, and Youth are all scheduled to premiere in 2026.
Harry Potter Has Already Scored a Season 2 Renewal
The show, first announced in April 2023, has been in the works for several years and will finally debut this Christmas. This release keeps the series close to its initial plan, as it was originally intended to premiere in 2026, though there was discussion of pushing it back to 2027.
HBO Max is getting a head start on Season 1, even before it premieres later this year. Filming for the first installment is finishing up this month, and they plan to begin production on the next one this fall.
However, there’s a significant change coming to the show. Gracie Cochrane, who originally played the character and appeared briefly in Season 1, will not be returning, as the family has stated this is due to unexpected issues.
