It turns out that all of the rumors about Lizzo aren’t true.
The singer of “Rumors” recently clarified her position after facing online accusations of speaking negatively about Taylor Swift.
On May 22nd, an X user connected Taylor Swift’s album, The Life Of A Showgirl, with Lizzo’s upcoming 2025 mixtape, MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING, and shared view counts: 4.005 million for the album and 683,000 for the mixtape. They also referenced other song titles – ‘ICEMAN,’ ‘MAID OF HONOUR,’ and ‘HABIBTI’ – along with their respective view counts.
Lizzo, 38, reposted the content—which included a segment from her “STFU” music video—and asked her followers to help her understand its meaning, saying, “Can someone explain what this means?”
After a user on X told Lizzo that her negative comments about Taylor Swift had come back to haunt her, Lizzo responded defensively.
Okay, so she finally responded! And can you believe she actually had to explain this?! She was like, ‘Are you okay?’ and then immediately shut down all the rumors that she’s ever said anything bad about Taylor – or any artist, for that matter! Seriously, some people are twisting everything! Just because she names someone doesn’t mean she’s being shady. Honestly, the nerve of some people! She even ended it with a ‘grow up,’ which, YES QUEEN, preach! It’s just ridiculous that she even had to clarify this.
Although the social media user didn’t explain why they thought Lizzo criticized Taylor Swift, Lizzo recently showed a lot of support for the singer, proving she feels positively towards her.
Lizzo, whose full name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, recently gave Taylor Swift a compliment while talking about her new song, “BITCH.” She explained that she was inspired by Taylor’s approach to her own work.
On the May 15th episode of Genius Verified, the artist gave a shout-out to Meredith Brooks, acknowledging that her new song includes a sample from Brooks’ 1997 hit. She emphasized, ‘I want everyone to know this song originally belongs to her.’
Lizzo explained that she worried the original meaning wouldn’t come across clearly. She wanted to make sure people understood this was her own take on things.
“You know how it’s like, ‘Taylor’s Version?'” she added. “It’s like, ‘Bitch (Lizzo’s Version).'”

But Lizzo’s support of Taylor goes way back.
Pink has noted similarities between herself and Taylor Swift, explaining that they both often write songs based on their own experiences, especially regarding love and heartbreak.
During an interview on the radio show The Breakfast Club in 2022, she playfully said, “I’m basically the Black Taylor Swift – and I’m not afraid to admit I can be a little bit mischievous!”
I don’t really criticize his personality, it’s more about his actions. I’ll say, ‘He’s a good person, but he did this thing, and I’m wondering if I’m overreacting.’ And people will tell me, ‘No, you’re not overreacting, you’re right to feel that way.’
Lizzo and Taylor Swift are on good terms, but here’s a look at celebrities who aren’t getting along.

I was really glad to hear Bobby address those rumors about a disagreement with Tan back in January. It had been circulating since he announced he was leaving Queer Eye after eight amazing seasons, which was about two months prior. It’s good to get things cleared up!
He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from their work on the show and wasn’t related to romance. It was a private matter that had been building up between them.
In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.
Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t help them get the part by having another actor removed from consideration,” he explained on Instagram.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter Kelly Osbourne on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that actor Topher Grace was the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a “rude little boy” and a “dastardly little thing.”
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset when he was on The Talk in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.
She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ Her response was blunt: ‘Listen, don’t challenge me, because I’ll completely overwhelm you.’ She added, ‘You have no idea who you’re talking to.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany shared on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she now enjoys a feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Shortly after, Candace Cameron Bure apologized, saying she unintentionally hurt JoJo’s feelings when she was younger and expressing her regret for not taking the picture. She said, “I feel crummy, JoJo, I’m so sorry.”
Look, I’m all about second chances, and things were definitely smoothed over with my former colleague. But recently, I was asked about the future of holiday movies on Great American Family, where I’m leading the creative side. Honestly, we’re going to stay true to our values. That means focusing on stories that celebrate traditional marriage as the central theme. It’s what our audience expects, and it’s where we’ll continue to focus our storytelling efforts.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art for her band Hole in a promotional photo without giving credit. Olivia responded with a supportive message, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome! My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on the show Watch What Happens Live, the actor from Happy Days explained why he and the star of Forrest Gump didn’t get along while filming their 1989 movie, Turner & Hooch.
I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me, he said.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Anyone who watched The Hills likely remembers that famous line from Lauren, spoken at the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt. It escalated when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and her then-boyfriend, Jason Wahler, alleging she’d made a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out in 2017, starting with an Instagram post from Tyrese complaining about the delay of Fast & Furious 9 until April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, slated for release in 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson was still involved.
Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on the The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly, though he hopes to. He mentioned he had talked to one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not Johnson himself.
Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others involved with the franchise, saying it was unprofessional and a mistake on his part. He explained he was the only one who spoke out, and he takes responsibility for that.

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which supposedly began over a disagreement about a dancer and competition between their concert tours, ended when Perry sent Swift an actual olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and publicly made some pointed remarks about her co-star.
During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall’s statement to Piers Morgan that they had only ever been colleagues, not friends.
She was deeply upset, saying she felt heartbroken about something. They had discussed it the previous week, and she explained she didn’t agree with how it was being remembered, as her experience had been very different.
It’s definitely sad, but I think what really connected us was sharing that unique experience. It started as a professional project, but over the years, it became something personal because it took up so much of our lives. I’m hoping that those years of working on something special and building a connection with people will outweigh anything that’s been said recently. It was a real privilege to be a part of it.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances, using strong language. He questioned whether lip-syncing could be considered a true live act and suggested that performers who lip-sync during paid concerts shouldn’t be doing so.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained that she didn’t believe she had been given strong enough storylines or scenes to deserve a nomination.
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine’s choice in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone consistently demonstrates their true character, you should believe it,” Rhimes explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week became a major news story. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what caused the argument with Nicki.
Cardi B recently told W magazine that someone has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.
The conflict truly escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had reportedly liked, and then quickly unliked, a tweet criticizing Cardi’s skills as a mother. Nicki has stated she didn’t actually interact with the tweet.
Cardi B explained she turned down a potentially hugely profitable Bruno Mars tour so she could be with her daughter, and she doesn’t regret it. She emphasized how much she loves her daughter and considers herself a great mom. She also responded to criticism about where she encountered another artist, saying opportunities like that don’t come along often, and she wasn’t going to pass up a chance meeting.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 following the release of Kanye’s song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.
Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”
The rumored rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began in 2003 during a German television interview. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah responded that she didn’t know her.
