Since launching last month, the popular indie game Mina the Hollower has surpassed 500,000 copies sold, solidifying Yacht Club Games’ position in the gaming world and securing its future.
Late last year, reports indicated the game developer was facing financial difficulties and had to lay off employees. According to co-founder Sean Velasco, the success of their game, Mina the Hollower, was crucial for the company’s survival, requiring approximately 200,000 copies sold to avoid further problems.
Now, less than two weeks after launch, the title has sold more than double that.
Yacht Club Games expressed their gratitude to everyone who has purchased the game, saying they’re amazed by how well it’s been received. They thanked players for their support – playing, sharing, reviewing, and streaming the game – and hinted that more content is on the way, saying, “The adventure is just getting started!”
Mina the Hollower has gotten fantastic reviews since its release, currently holding the top score for games released in 2026 on Metacritic. While we didn’t love it quite as much as some, it’s definitely a well-made, old-school adventure game.
