Wow, the Spring 2026 anime season is wrapping up, but I’m already getting hyped for Summer! Honestly, 2026 has been incredible for anime so far. We’ve gotten the return of favorites like Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, which have been amazing! Plus, some brand new shows like Witch Hat Atelier and Daemons of the Shadow Realm have already started, and they’re fantastic. And, as always, Crunchyroll is going to be the place to watch everything! They’ll be adding tons of new series and streaming episodes weekly right after they air in Japan. The Summer season officially kicks off in July, and I can’t wait to dive into all the new shows!
The streaming platform will announce its summer 2026 lineup before the end of June, detailing which series will be available, when they’ll be released, and in which regions. Among the highlights is Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You, set to premiere in July. However, special new episodes were released on June 3rd. The first six episodes of the anime were remade into 12 shorter episodes that originally aired on the Japanese TV channel ABEMA. Crunchyroll quickly began streaming these episodes, giving fans a chance to watch this highly anticipated romance anime ahead of the official premiere.

Once upon a time, a mermaid princess named Lara lived in an underwater kingdom with her father, the king, and her sisters. She fell in love with a human prince who lived above the waves, but their love was forbidden. Mermaids weren’t allowed to have relationships with humans, especially not a princess. Despite this, Lara bravely ventured to the surface world hoping to meet him.
Lara was once a sea princess who traded her underwater life for the chance to become human, thanks to a potion from the enigmatic witch Grace. But the potion had a catch: if she didn’t find true love, she would dissolve into sea foam. She chose love, but sadly, it didn’t happen, and she disappeared into the ocean. Now, two hundred years later, she’s awakened in Lake Biwa, determined to find that love once more.
