During February’s State of Play presentation, Ember Lab announced that their sequel, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, is scheduled for release in 2026. Sony will publish the game on both PlayStation 5 and PC.
Each week has passed without any news about the release, leading people to believe it might now be pushed back to 2027.
The studio hasn’t commented, but most game publishers seem to be steering clear of releasing their games around the same time as GTA 6 in November. Plus, late August to early October is already very crowded with new game launches.
Ember Lab has been active on X (formerly Twitter) recently, but most of the responses they’re getting are questions about when the game will be released.
“Is Kena: Scars of Kosmora still scheduled for release this year?” one fan pondered.
Another exclaimed: “You’re killing me! Give me a release date already.”
Ember Lab isn’t sharing many details yet, but I anticipate they’ll likely announce a delay soon.
Honestly, I don’t think this game is going to make it out this year. It feels like all the momentum’s gone, and after they didn’t mention it at all during the summer streams last week, I’m pretty sure we’re looking at a 2027 release now. It’s a bummer, but I’m bracing for the wait.
