Preparations are underway for the upcoming “Scream 7” on the silver screen, where the menacing figure of Ghostface will reportedly embark on another deadly rampage next year. This incarnation could potentially be the most perilous version of the antagonist so far. In the making currently, the production of “Scream 7” sees original “Scream” writer Kevin Williamson stepping into the director’s role. The ensemble features a blend of fresh and recognizable actors, with one notable returnee expressing some intense opinions regarding this new movie’s Ghostface character.
Mason Gooding recently sat down for a chat on “I’ve Never Revealed This Before with Tommy DiDario,” where he shared some insights about the upcoming “Scream” movie. Given his roles in the previous two “Scream” films, Gooding has become somewhat of an experienced player in this franchise, and he thinks that the new Ghostface surpasses all its predecessors in terms of intimidation.
As a movie critic, I can confidently say that the new Ghostface in this production is undeniably the most gruesome incarnation yet, from a practical standpoint of anatomy and gore. The sheer volume of blood and internal organs (viscera) is staggering, making for a truly chilling experience. With Kevin Williamson at the helm, fans can expect a thrilling journey with characters they’ll undoubtedly connect with.
It’s clear that we’re still in the dark about the specifics regarding the new Ghostface, given that unmasking the killer (or killers) is typically a major plot point in every Scream film. Unlike Scream 3, each of the previous movies has had multiple characters donning the Ghostface mask.
Among the returning cast members of “Scream 7” is Courtney Gentry Gooding, one of only two characters who originated in the recent franchise installments. His character, Chad Meeks-Martin, is the nephew of Randy (played by Jamie Kennedy), and with the release of “Scream 7,” he will have starred in three consecutive “Scream” films. Additionally, Jasmin Savoy Brown will reprise her role as Chad’s twin sister, Mindy Meeks-Martin.
In the upcoming movie, Neve Campbell reprises her role as Sidney Prescott, who has starred in five out of six Scream films so far, having taken a break for the sixth because of contract issues. Courteney Cox, who has been present in all six Scream movies, is also set to make another appearance. The most intriguing news about this cast is that Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard will be joining, with both actors known for portraying Ghostface killers in earlier films, whose characters were supposedly killed at the end of those movies. No details have been released yet on how their comebacks will be addressed.
In the latest Scream movie, Scream 7, some fresh faces joining the franchise are Isabelle May, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Mark Consuelos, Anna Camp, and Ethan Embry.
