Street Fighter 6 Has Sold More Than 7 Million Copies

With the recent release of the final character for its Year 3 downloadable content, Ingrid, Capcom announced that Street Fighter 6 has now sold over 7 million copies globally. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, and sales have been strong across all platforms.

Capcom announced on social media that Street Fighter 6 has surpassed 7 million copies sold globally, expressing their deep gratitude to fans for making it happen.

Street Fighter 6 first came out in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It was then released on the Nintendo Switch 2 last year, as a title available right when the console launched.

Now that all the Year 3 characters have been revealed, Capcom has shared details about upcoming downloadable content for Street Fighter 6. A new trailer confirmed four new fighters will be joining the game: Yasmine, Arjun, Bosch, and Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7.

The next installment of Street Fighter will introduce four brand new characters to the series. With the exception of Tifa, these fighters are all completely original creations. Capcom has shared some initial details about them. For example, Yasmine is a Filipino high school student who enters the world of Street Fighter 6 while searching for her older brother. She fights using a curved karambit knife.

Arjun has incredible stamina and practices yogic breathing, allowing him to fight using a special style called Bare-knuckle Yoga. He used to be a police officer in India, but after being falsely accused of killing a coworker, he’s been on the run, determined to find the real killer.

Bosch, originally from Nayshall, is searching for what true strength really means. He’s already a skilled fighter, having won an important tournament before the game begins. Now, he’s come to Metro City to learn from Luke and combine modern fighting styles with his traditional martial arts.

Similar to her role in Final Fantasy 7, Tifa will use her Zangan-ryu fighting style in Street Fighter 6. She finds herself in the world of the game after an unexplained journey and is eager to connect with the new characters she meets. In terms of gameplay, Tifa is a close-combat fighter who utilizes special moves called Abilities.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited to hear about the Year 4 characters! We’re getting Yasmine this summer, and then Arjun in the fall of 2026. After a little wait, Tifa is coming in early 2027, and then Bosch in the spring. Plus, the Year 4 Pass isn’t just about new fighters – we’re also getting four new color schemes for their first outfits, and 3,000 Drive Tickets to use in the game! It’s a great package overall.
