FromSoftware recently showed off a new trailer for The Duskbloods, their next game coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. While many fans hoped to hear when the game would launch – with some expecting it later this year – a release date wasn’t revealed. Players will get a chance to try the game in a closed network test this summer, but more information about that is still to come.
The trailer suggested we might be able to play as some new Bloodsworn characters, but it didn’t show much of what they can do or how the gameplay will work. However, the game’s visual style – particularly the buildings – looks fantastic, which is what we’ve come to expect from this developer.
In The Duskbloods, the world is nearing its end, and players choose from over a dozen unique characters called Bloodsworn, all vying to be the last one standing. While you can battle other players, you don’t have to. You can also team up with them to overcome challenges, or mark them as rivals if you’re looking for player-versus-player combat.
Although this is FromSoftware’s second game designed for multiplayer, following Elden Ring Nightreign, they’re still committed to making single-player experiences. It’s unclear what those will look like in the future, but The Duskbloods should hold fans over until then.
