The new expansion, The Imperial Palace, for the free-to-play action RPG Where Winds Meet, adds a massive one million square miles to explore and 3,000 new characters. While it features plenty of action, like chases and comical fights, the world beyond the palace walls hints at a darker, more dangerous realm inhabited by hostile creatures.
A new World Boss called the Gilded Lament has been revealed. A recent trailer, combining real footage with gameplay, shows this ghostly character endlessly writing poetry. While the line “One last verse for no one” is mysterious, it’s clear that in battle, she attacks using scrolls filled with her writing.
She has the ability to transform into energy and then reappear, damaging a wide area around her. While we haven’t seen much of her fighting style yet, the developers at Everstone Studio might be holding back some impressive moves for players to discover themselves.
The expansion for Where Winds Meet, titled The Imperial Palace, will be available on May 28th for PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. You can see more of the gameplay now! The developers are planning even more updates this summer, including new Gauntlet weapons, the ability to personalize your home, animal companions, and a new five-player co-op mode.
