With new episodes of the Yellowstone spin-off, Dutton Ranch, coming out each week, many viewers are also eager for more of another spin-off, Marshals, which recently completed its first season.
Good news for fans: “Marshals,” the show featuring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, has been renewed for a second season.
Great news! Production for season 2 is officially underway, and new episodes are expected to arrive this fall, according to Deadline.
Fans will be thrilled by how quickly this is happening, particularly since they’ve become accustomed to long waits between seasons of their favorite shows.
The new season of Marshals begins after the events of Yellowstone‘s fifth season, showing that Kayce’s wife, Monica (played by Kelsey Asbille), has passed away – an event that happened between seasons and wasn’t shown on screen.
After leaving the Yellowstone Ranch, John Dutton becomes a U.S. Marshal. He uses his experience as both a rancher and a Navy SEAL to enforce the law throughout Montana.

Kayce works with a team – including Pete Calvin, Belle Skinner, Andrea Cruz, and Miles Kittle – and they all struggle with the emotional toll of being the last defense against violence in the area. They have to manage this difficult job while also taking care of their families. For Kayce, this means balancing his responsibilities to his son, Tate, and to trusted friends and advisors like Mo and Thomas Rainwater from the Broken Rock reservation.
I’ve been thinking about Monica’s passing, and it seems like things could be changing for Kayce. I’m really intrigued by the possibility of a connection between him and Dolly Weaver – Ellyn Jameson’s character. It feels like that could be a really interesting direction for the story to take.
The story shares similarities with Romeo and Juliet because Dolly is the daughter of Tom Weaver, who’s been attempting to purchase Kayce’s East Camp.
