Colleen Hoover‘s next film adaptation has finally revealed its star.

It has been confirmed by Universal Pictures that Maika Monroe will star as the main character in the film “Reminders of Him,” which is based on a popular novel of the same title published by a bestselling author in 2022, according to TopMob News (reported March 18).

Actress known as “Longlegs” will portray Kenna Rowan, a young woman fresh out of prison, who’s struggling to reconnect with her 4-year-old daughter, in the upcoming film. This project was initially unveiled in October and is scheduled for release on February 13, 2026.

Moreover, there are other significant aspects that have been revealed concerning the upcoming adaptation. The film will be helmed by director Vanessa Caswill, with Colleen and Lauren Levine penning the script. Interestingly, both Colleen and Lauren are not only writing but also producing the movie through their production company, Heartbones Entertainment. Additionally, Gina Matthews will produce it through Little Engine Productions, and Robin Fisichella has been appointed as executive producer.

TopMob News has reached out to reps for Colleen and Maika for comment but has not heard back.

Over the last year, Hoover has been actively developing multiple adaptations. Notably, the adaptation of “Regretting You” is scheduled for release in theaters this October, with filming set to start shortly. However, the movie is yet to finalize its cast.

Moreover, the upcoming movie version of “Verity,” slated for release in 2026, has commenced filming, and enthusiasts have had a sneak peek as actors Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett were seen shooting scenes in New York City.

Regarding the upcoming film “Verity,” directed by Michael Showalter, there’s a suggestion that it will measure up to the 2018 novel. Colleen has hinted that it will certainly be worth the wait.

She mentioned during a broadcast in August on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’, “I’ve just gone through the script,” she said. “I can’t wait for it!
