007 First Light: Every Confirmed Character So Far

IO Interactive has unveiled a first glimpse at “007 First Light“, their forthcoming James Bond origin tale. Although specifics about “First Light” remain scarce, some fresh and familiar faces have been confirmed to make an appearance in the game.

Before delving into each figure glimpsed in the trailer, it’s crucial to point out that IO Interactive hasn’t yet confirmed the identity of every character, so the following list offers some educated assumptions about the characters in the game 007 First Light.

1) James Bond

In this new project, it’s clear that James Bond is involved, but there are some intriguing aspects to his portrayal. For instance, this iteration of the character appears to be significantly younger than usual. The developers at IO Interactive have mentioned that in this game, he is only 26 years old and has recently joined MI6 following his service as a Navy air crewman.

The specified section is authentic. As for the character who lends their voice and appearance, it remains unofficial as of now by IOI. Some fans speculate that it might be Patrick Gibson, known for his role in Dexter: Original Sin. Here’s hoping the developers will share a complete cast lineup in the upcoming months.

2) M

In the James Bond series of movies, M is the title used for the head of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). This character serves as James Bond’s superior officer. Notably, Ralph Fiennes and Judi Dench have played this role in more contemporary films, but the Identity Unknown Incident (IOI) has yet to announce who will portray M in the upcoming “007 First Light.” However, it is this character who you’ll be receiving orders from.

3) Moneypenny

In this scene, it appears that the character is serving as a secretary to the person who looks like M, although it’s not definitively confirmed that this is indeed Moneypenny. The individual seems to be working under her and might potentially be James Bond’s mentor, Greenway, but his appearance changes later in the trailer without a beard, leading some to speculate that he may have shaved. Since razors are present within the Bond universe, it’s possible that he trimmed or shaved his beard.

It’s plausible that the character in question is Moneypenny, marking a change from her usual female portrayals as she’s now being played by an actor of male gender. Until an official announcement confirms it, we can only speculate.

4) Q

In the world of James Bond, it appears that the person responsible for all his advanced technology might be none other than Q. Though we can’t confirm this without absolute certainty, the scene shows her guiding Bond through a lab, which is a typical setting for Q in the Bond series. If true, this would mark the first time Q is played by a woman, altering the dynamic between Q and Moneypenny significantly.

As a dedicated fan, I can confidently say that it’s a given that character Q is going to play a significant role in this story. IO Interactive is renowned for their dynamic, innovative combat systems, and having Q around provides them with the perfect opportunity to experiment with extraordinary gadgets. These unique tools will not only add depth to stealth but also elevate the combat experience.

5) 009

As for the main villain in 007 First Light, it’s still unknown, but the trailer suggests it could be 009, another MI6 agent. Beyond 007, we don’t have much information about the other Double-O agents. Among them, 006 is arguably the most significant figure, given that Alec Trevelyan served as the main antagonist in GoldenEye.

009, a character who only makes an appearance in the film series through the movie “Octopussy”, initially appears as a circus clown before meeting his demise by a throwing knife. This depiction of 009 is notably ominous, and it would be intriguing if IO Interactive were to incorporate a clown suit for him in future iterations, offering a nostalgic nod to the past.

6) Greenway

In this storyline so far, Greenway is the sole newcomer we’ve been acquainted with. He serves as Bond’s guide in this origin tale, instructing him on the ways of MI6. While it’s expected that Bond will infuse his own style into the learning process, Greenway is there to help 007 transform into an agent. Intriguingly, a scene from the trailer shows Greenway and Bond precariously perched over a crocodile-infested pit, offering what seems like an incredibly dramatic “lesson” for the budding James Bond.

007: First Light won’t be released until 2026, so there will be plenty of trailers and gameplay demonstrations to look forward to in the upcoming months. In fact, a significant gameplay unveil is scheduled for later this week. We’re excited to learn more about the characters IO Interactive introduced in the first trailer, as well as glimpsing some new faces from the James Bond universe.
