007 First Light shows off a new take on James Bond, and it’s coming to Xbox and PC in 2026

Previously mentioned, IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios revealed a sneak peek of 007 First Light during the June 2025 State of Play broadcast. This offered a tantalizing look at a fresh perspective on the globally recognized secret agent, who is now transformed into a gaming experience.

You can take a look at the reveal trailer for this third-person action-adventure title below:

The upcoming movie portrays a youthful version of James Bond, only 26 years old, who is depicted as both promising and somewhat rebellious during his time in the Royal Navy, according to the official announcement.

007 finds himself immersed in the intricate world of MI6 espionage, where he’s assigned perilous tasks that span across continents. As expected, he carries gadgets to counterbalance these risks, such as diverse firearms and a timepiece seemingly outfitted with a laser.

IO Interactive, known for their work on the Hitman series, is not entirely abandoning the stealthy gameplay style they’re famous for. Although there seems to be a stronger focus on ranged combat in the latest reveal trailer, the creators hint that James Bond can opt for a more covert approach in his missions, choosing to remain undetected.

007 First Light is planned for release sometime in the year 2026, after which it can be played on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
