Over its eight-season span, the HBO show “Game of Thrones” became known for ruthlessly eliminating characters. Drawing inspiration from George R.R. As a die-hard fan of “Game of Thrones,” I must admit, the brutal nature of the show had me on edge during each episode, expecting the worst for my favorite characters. Yet, against all odds, some of them managed to outlive the series finale. Characters who seemed destined for the Iron Throne’s cold embrace somehow found a way to survive. Even now, years after the show wrapped up, it’s hard to believe that these ten characters actually made it through the blood-soaked saga of “Game of Thrones.
The Imp Shockingly Survives
Tyrion Lannister manages to survive numerous potential deaths throughout the series. He avoids execution in the Vale following a trial by combat won by Bronn, escapes the Battle of the Blackwater with a severe wound, and leaves Westeros after being condemned for the murder of King Joffrey. Given these near-death experiences, viewers anticipated that Tyrion might meet his end in the final season.

As Season 8 nears its close, it appears that Tyrion’s long-awaited moment is upon him. Following Daenerys’ destruction of King’s Landing, Tyrion relinquishes his role as the Queen’s advisor and she orders his detainment. After Bran Stark and Meera Reed part ways at Winterfell following Theon’s takeover, they had previously met during their escape, Meera later decides to depart from Bran to assist her family at Greywater Watch.

Remarkably, by the end of the series, both Gilly and her son, now called “Little Sam,” make it through unscathed, even amidst the Battle at Winterfell against the White Walkers.

In a typical turn of events, Gilly’s sweet-natured disposition might have put her in danger, but remarkably, both Gilly and Little Sam make it through the entire series. In my perspective as a movie critic, Daario Naharis has truly evolved since his early days as a sellsword with the Second Sons on Game of Thrones. He finds himself deeply entangled in the life of Daenerys Targaryen, becoming a crucial ally during her reign over Meereen.
However, when Daenerys embarks on her journey across the sea, she entrusts Meereen to Daario, leaving him behind. This decision allows her to pursue relationships that are more strategically advantageous in her native continent, as love often plays a significant role in the game of thrones.

Upon forming a bond with Jon, he participated in various subsequent battles such as the Battle of the Bastards, the Wight Hunt, and the Battle of Winterfell. Considering the numerous battles that Tormund has engaged in, it’s surprising that he managed to survive them all.

Following Tyrion’s departure to Essos, Bronn forms a bond with his brother Jaime, joining him in thrilling escapades across Dorne. Remarkably, throughout all these adventures, Bronn not only survives the Game of Thrones but eventually prospers, as evidenced by the series finale. Bronn’s allegiance ultimately leads to significant opportunities, such as becoming Lord of Highgarden, which finally fulfills his long-held dream for a castle.
