1000-LB Roomies‘ Jaz has an important decision to make.
In an exclusive sneak peek from TopMob News, the June 10 episode of TLC’s series features a heartfelt discussion among the 41-year-old and her loved ones about her decision to have bariatric surgery. Despite their reservations, she believes this is a necessary step for her.
In a private moment, Jaz expresses concern: “I don’t want my family to lose faith in me, but it scares me because this is the truth of the situation.” She shares her thoughts with her costar and roommate, Nesha. “If I don’t undergo the surgery, I won’t be around for long.
Before her heartfelt confession, it was during a Sunday dinner that Jaz brought up the subject with her family.
She shares with them that she’s been visiting a physician. As a result of this, she has shed approximately 40 pounds, and she’s also been administering a weight-loss injection.
After hesitating, she adds, “I’ve been thinking about having weight loss surgery.”
Jaz’s grandmother expresses her worries promptly, and his mother adds, “Many people I know have recovered, yet none of them are like my child.
But despite the pushback, Jaz simply says, “I need ya’ll support.”
To start off, during the initial episode on June 3rd, Jaz conversed with her physician, Dr. Sarvenaz Nouri, who underlined the significant dangers she encounters.
He clarified that without shedding excess pounds or opting for weight loss surgery, your life span may be significantly reduced.
He mentioned that she needs to shed approximately 130 more pounds before she can undergo the surgery, since he prefers her weight to be around 500 pounds. This was a point she gave careful thought to as she pondered the consequences, particularly considering her 10-year-old daughter who lives with her at home.
As I ponder my situation, I find myself filled with trepidation. Each passing moment brings me closer to the unknown, causing me to wonder how much time I have left in these cherished roles: a parent, an aunt, a sister, a daughter, a confidante. The days seem to be slipping away, and I can’t help but feel the urgency of making every moment count.
Although Jaz’s mother and grandmother express concern about surgical options for her, Nesha remains steadfast, having previously declared in Episode 1, “I’ll stand by her side through whatever she needs to do. I’m fully supportive.
