Wolfenstein: The New Order
In its initial take on the Wolfenstein series, MachineGames struck a perfect balance between narrative and action, albeit its sequel became somewhat overly indulgent in cinematic elements (which isn’t necessarily a flaw). When it came to charging through waves of adversaries, armed with dual assault rifles or blasting away with a shotgun, the intense combat was a thrilling change of pace. Stealth gameplay is also present, but the sheer enjoyment of plowing through enemies made for an invigorating gaming experience.
