Over the past few years, the timeframes for video game launches have become shorter, with major releases sometimes not even being officially announced until only a few months before their release. In some instances, games may be acknowledged years ahead of their launch, but these announcements often serve as mere formalities rather than full-scale reveals. As we move into 2025, we can expect to see a variety of announcements throughout the year. These will include games that are anticipated based on speculation, patterns, and past trends, as well as those that have been in development for some time now and may finally reveal their full details.
RESIDENT EVIL 9
As a hardcore Resident Evil fan, I can’t help but feel the excitement bubbling within me. It’s been quite a while since we last got our hands on a new Resident Evil game, and it’s been even longer since the mainline series saw a numbered installment with Village. That being said, it seems like Resident Evil 9 might not be too far off now! Last year, Capcom confirmed that the series’ next main game is indeed in development, with RE7’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, at the helm once more. I have a feeling we might hear an official announcement about it later this year, possibly leading up to a release sometime in early 2026. Fingers crossed!
