As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve witnessed the rise and fall of countless games. From the early days of Doom to the modern-day masterpieces, I’ve seen it all. When I heard about Earth From Another Sun, my heart skipped a beat. It’s like someone took the best parts of my favorite sci-fi shooters and rolled them into one epic package.
Video games where you predominantly spend time shooting stuff continue to be a favourite genre amongst players the world over, with the evocative fantasy of well-realised science fiction a common backdrop to support gunplay. It’s no surprise then that there’re heaps of upcoming shooters which embrace sci-fi’s aesthetic, with the fifteen on show here a small selection of sci-fi shooters that are on the horizon for 2024 and beyond.
Earth From Another Sun
In essence, “Earth From Another Sun” appears to be the offspring of games like “Halo”, “Destiny 2”, “Starfield”, and “Mass Effect”. It’s an upcoming Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game that offers epic battles with up to 1000 players across various interstellar destinations. The combat is customizable, allowing for a wide range of weapons, abilities, gadgets, and transportation tools such as jetpacks and hover tanks. However, this brief description merely scratches the surface; “Earth From Another Sun” boasts numerous other features. Yet, it remains to be seen if combining a multitude of gameplay mechanics into a hero shooter, much like “Concord”, will reduce its potential for failure.
