As a devoted fan of “16 & Pregnant” and a follower of Autumn Oxley Crittendon’s journey since her appearance on the show in 2014, I am absolutely heartbroken by the tragic news of her untimely death at the age of 27. Her life was filled with challenges, but she persevered and became a beacon of strength and resilience for many.

Autumn Crittendon, a participant on “16 and Pregnant” since its fifth season in 2014 with her partner Dustin Franklin, passed away on July 20, 2021, at her residence in Henrico county, Virginia. She was only 27 years old.
At the scene, officers and firefighters found an unresponsive adult female in the house, as reported by the Henrico County Police Division to TopMob News. Firefighters tried to revive her, but unfortunately, their efforts failed. Autumn Oxley, 27-year-old Henrico resident, was declared dead at the scene. Henrico Police are treating this incident as a death investigation. Detectives are collaborating with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to ascertain the precise cause and manner of her demise.
Autumn acted as the loving mother figure to her son Drake, who was 10 years old and shared with Dustin, in addition to two other children. According to various reports, Autumn’s older sister, Misty Crittendon, who had also been featured on “16 & Pregnant,” mourned Autumn in a now-deleted Facebook post, referring to her as her “most cherished sister.”
In her July 21 post, she expressed deeply, “You were taken from us too soon in your youth. Your departure came unexpectedly, leaving no chance for farewells. The depth of our love for you, the awe we hold for your strength, and the immense pride we feel for your sobriety during challenging times. You’ve made incredible strides since then, and we cherish each moment spent with you. As your mother, I’m incredibly proud of who you are, and grateful that three precious pieces of your spirit remain among us.”
Misty, who recently updated her Facebook profile picture with a photo of her and her late sister, reassured Autumn that she would carry on honoring her sister’s memory and taking care of her kids.
“I vow to cherish life deeply in your memory, Misty added. These infants will forever be reminded of your unwavering love, your awe-inspiring strength, the uniqueness that defined you, and the immense sacrifices you made for them.”
