1998’s N64 gem is making a comeback this month across various platforms including Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Gamers who were around in ’98 might recall hits like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil 2, Metal Gear Solid, Half-Life, StarCraft, Spyro the Dragon, Baldur’s Gate, Banjo-Kazooie, NFL Blitz, Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Marvel vs. Capcom, F-Zero X and numerous other fantastic games. 1998 was a standout year in gaming history.
1998 saw the creation of numerous cult favorites because with an abundance of significant and notable releases, many games were overlooked. This month’s N64 classic rerelease isn’t exactly a cult classic, as it was played by a large number of people initially, but it didn’t garner the same level of attention as the games mentioned above did.
Originally released in 1998, Glover didn’t set the world ablaze, but it managed to perform well enough to warrant a fresh release in 2025. The initial game was created by Interactive Studios and published by Hasbro Interactive. However, this new revival is being handled by Qubyte Interactive and Bleem. For those expecting a remaster or remake, there might be some disappointment as the re-release is simply a transfer of the original game to newer platforms.
First released as a PC and N64 game, followed by a PS1 version the next year in 1999, Glover earned a score of 70 on GameRankings originally. The game performed well enough to warrant a sequel, but unfortunately, that sequel was eventually scrapped.
The timeless gem from the ’90s is back! In this captivating 3D adventure, you’ll guide a magical glove on a journey to reestablish harmony in the kingdom. Navigate through levels by rolling, jumping, and using your magic ball to solve puzzles, conquer obstacles, and vanquish the villainous glove that threatens the world!
If you’re keen on experiencing the timeless charm of the 1998 N64 classic, be prepared to spend $19.99 across all platforms. This journey takes you back to an earlier era of gaming, offering approximately 5 to 7 hours of immersion in a bygone age.
