The previous installments have consistently demonstrated that characters often manage to return, even after considerable time has passed. The upcoming venture promises to be an extravaganza of superheroes, with Robert Downey Jr. rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a new character, Doctor Doom.
In previous instances, it’s been shown that characters can make their way back, even after a long time has elapsed. The upcoming event is set to be a spectacular showcase of superheroes, featuring Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom, a new character.
The comeback of Downey Jr., along with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” demonstrated that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) had no boundaries. The forthcoming superhero collaboration, not just from recent films but also involving the X-Men, is highly anticipated. In a recent interview, franchise stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan expressed optimistic views when asked about a possible reappearance in future projects.
It wasn’t until the cast for Avengers: Doomsday was unveiled that Chiwetel Ejiofor was not included. Instead, he made his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in 2016’s Doctor Strange as Karl Mordo. The movie hinted at a larger story for his character in the post-credits scene, but this aspect of the plot was not developed. He reappeared in the role in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, portraying an altered version of Mordo.
In the grand scheme of things, I find myself stepping back into the shoes of Nebula, a character I portrayed as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians of the Galaxy saga. Known for my role as Thanos’ tormented daughter in the initial series, I had the privilege of revisiting this character in two Avengers movies and the recently released Thor: Love and Thunder.
The two performers are currently set to appear in the forthcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Life of Chuck,” with one of them portraying Loki. When questioned about a potential reappearance in “Avengers: Endgame” or another project, both actors expressed their readiness to return.
Ejiofor stated, “The Marvel Universe is an incredibly thrilling environment for me, filled with endless opportunities and captivating stories. It has been a pleasure working there.
As a gamer, I can’t help but feel the thrill when discussing the Marvel universe. Regarding what lies ahead, I’m sworn to secrecy, but hey, you never know, right? Maybe there are some surprises still up our sleeves. After all, they say ‘never say never’!
Karen Gillan Would Love to Work With James Gunn Again
After the debut of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”, director James Gunn moved from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to the DC Universe (DCU), where he currently holds a co-CEO position at DC Studios alongside Peter Safran. With his departure, the future of the Guardians remains uncertain. The third movie hinted at Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord appearing in a future endeavor, but the specific details about this project are yet to be disclosed.
Gillan has expressed a wish to collaborate with Gunn again in the past, as she considers him one of her favorite people and filmmakers. She would gladly take up a project with him if given the opportunity. Moreover, she doesn’t want to limit herself by trying to fit into a specific role; she trusts that Gunn will select the perfect character for her if they ever work together again. As of now, there is no confirmation about her return, but fans have speculated that she could play Scarlett, Jason Todd’s apprentice or sidekick, in future projects.
