As a huge fan of “24” and having followed Kiefer Sutherland’s career for years, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the news that the iconic series is set to return as a movie. The memories I have of staying up late every day for eight straight seasons, glued to my TV screen, watching Jack Bauer save the world in real-time are some of the best of my life.

As a longtime fan of “24,” I’m thrilled to hear that the beloved Fox series is making a comeback as a new movie. Having grown up watching Jack Bauer and the Counter Terrorist Unit save the day week after week, I can’t help but feel nostalgic about this news. The high-stakes action and edge-of-your-seat suspense kept me hooked for hours on end.

“Looking back, that period of my life around my early 30s stands out as truly remarkable. I was in peak physical condition, yet had gained some valuable wisdom beyond my 20s. This combination enabled me to make the most of a rare and prolonged 10-year commitment to my craft – an opportunity that few actors receive. The talented individuals I worked with only added to this exceptional experience. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like bringing joy to people through your work. [Laughs] Trust me, having experienced the opposite, where projects didn’t resonate well, I can attest that the positive reception is far more enjoyable.”

“We frequently discuss matters with Howard, and the topic of his potential return often emerges in our conversations. I’m just brainstorming here, but bringing him back into the story could be intriguing. Introduce new characters trying to help him escape, and the plot can progress from there. There are numerous approaches to take.”

How Will 24 Continue After This?

Although no immediate sequel with a “24”-style format was planned, Sutherland and his team considered exploring the distinctive concept further. With 168 hours in a week for countless individuals from diverse backgrounds, there’s potential for captivating audiences with yet another emergency responder facing harrowing situations that keep you on the edge of your seat each episode. In the same “Entertainment Weekly” article, Sutherland shared some intriguing ideas.

The actor pondered aloud about the compelling notion of capturing a critical 24-hour period in someone’s life, whether it be a firefighter or any other desperate situation. It astonishes me that no one has yet turned this idea into reality. Regardless of my involvement, I believe bringing such an endeavor to life in real time is both challenging and brilliant. It’s hard to believe that this concept hasn’t grown into something more significant.
