However, in 2024, producer Andrew Macdonald regained control of the rights to 28 Days Later and eventually sold them to Sony Pictures, which is why we can look forward to a digital release soon.

Filmed on early digital cameras like the Canon XL-1, 28 Days Later has a maximum resolution of 720×576, making a 4K release technically difficult.
