In the movie “28 Years Later“, the actors didn’t find it hard to react in fear when faced with undressed zombies. Previews for this much-anticipated sequel have revealed several eerie scenes of partially decayed and nearly nude zombies pursuing survivors, among whom are Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Isla (Jodie Comer), and Spike (Alfie Williams). In an interview with ComicBook before the movie’s release on June 20th, these actors confirmed that those scenes were as frightening in reality as they appeared. Alfie Williams even stated that running from these specific zombies was “even more terrifying” than fleeing from any other kind of undead creature.
Indeed, it was even more chilling,” Comer concurred. “It felt as if you were running for your life, not a figment of your mind, but an actual, tangible situation, which left no room for doubt or question.
Indeed, it seems like you act intuitively without much delay,” Taylor-Johnson concurred. “I believe there was no hesitation on your part.” Although their responses were sincere, they all laughed a little at the query.
Williams remarked that the action happened so quickly, there was no chance for them to utter ‘action,’ it had already transpired.” In the trailers, we notice the trio engaging in a lot of running, implying that the film itself will contain even more gruesome scenes and terror associated with its R-rating. The story, titled “28 Years Later,” is set almost three decades after a lethal virus called ‘Rage’ was released from an English research facility, resulting in a nationwide pandemic. Jamie, Isla, and Spike inhabit a survivor community on a small island that can only be reached at specific tide times.
For nearly a decade, this movie has been under development, and it’s fortunate that the original author Alex Garland and director Danny Boyle were responsible for its final cut. However, they didn’t participate in the first sequel, 28 Weeks Later. Now, the story is once again under their management. They are commencing a trilogy, having simultaneously filmed this movie and its sequel titled 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, set to release on January 16, 2026. Original actor Cillian Murphy is back as an executive producer for the franchise, with plans for him to reprise his role as Jimmy in The Bone Temple. An additional installment is currently being developed following that.
Starting this upcoming Friday, June 20th, the narrative will take off at a fast pace as the film titled “28 Years Later” premieres in American cinemas.
