28 Years Later Cast Confirm Running From Naked Zombies Requires No Acting

In some instances, actors must set aside their skepticism to fully embody a character; however, the ensemble of “28 Years Later” seemed unbothered by this task when fleeing in fear from nude zombies. Previews for the eagerly anticipated follow-up have revealed chilling glimpses of nearly naked and decomposing zombies pursuing survivors, among them Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Isla (Jodie Comer), and Spike (Alfie Williams). Prior to the film’s debut on June 20th, these actors shared with ComicBook that these scenes were as spine-tingling as they appeared. Williams, in particular, expressed that escaping from such zombies was “even more terrifying” than fleeing from any other kind.

Absolutely, it becomes even more chilling, as Comer concurred. “Indeed, you’re compelled to flee for survival. It wasn’t a matter of straining your imagination; rather, it felt like you were confronted with the raw truth, and then instructed to escape.

Taylor-Johnson concurred, saying, “Indeed, it seems like your innate responses took over, and you acted instinctively.” He implied that there was no hesitation or waiting involved in your actions. Despite their sincere replies, they all shared a laugh at the query.

In Williams’ words, “The action happened so fast, there was no time for you to shout ‘action.’ It appears that the trailers show a lot of running, and it seems reasonable to expect that the R-rated film will have even more gruesome scenes and terror.”

In the movie titled “28 Years Later,” we find ourselves almost three decades after a deadly virus called “Rage” was accidentally released from a lab in England. This virus caused a brutal pandemic throughout the country. The main characters, Jamie, Isla, and Spike, reside on a small island where they are part of a group of survivors. They can only reach this island at specific times through a causeway.

This movie has been under production for quite some time, and it’s great to know that the original author Alex Garland and director Danny Boyle are back at the helm for this project. They weren’t part of the first sequel, 28 Weeks Later, but they’re now taking charge again. This marks the beginning of a trilogy, with the movie and its sequel 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple both having been filmed concurrently. The Bone Temple is set to hit theaters on January 16, 2026. Original star Cillian Murphy is returning to the franchise as an executive producer, and he’s also expected to play his role from 28 Days Later, Jimmy, in The Bone Temple. Another installment is currently being developed following this one.

Currently, the narrative will kick off with a sense of urgency starting this coming Friday, June 20th, as the movie “28 Years Later” premieres in American cinemas.
