In the same conversation, Comer disclosed that her discussions with Boyle provided insight into Isla’s reasons behind her actions during the tense scene. She stated, “We figured she might have assisted in a few births, and there was something about the primal cry of the pregnant, infected woman that only she seemed to understand. That raw instinct drove her to act.”

“This is why,” she continued, “I believe Isla felt compelled to help, and it may also be due to her condition – a fractured sense of reality. She doesn’t fully comprehend the risks involved but can overlook them to assist another woman in distress.
