Trailer Script and Cast

In this version, the Japanese trailer’s script is overseen by Satoru Akahori, who originally wrote the screenplay.

  • The English cast includes Rick Jones (Speedy Cerviche), Sonja Ball (Polly Esther), Terrence Scammell (Guido Anchovy, Narrator) and Dean Hagopian returning as Seymour “The Big” Cheese.
  • The Japanese cast includes Kappei Yamaguchi (Yattarou), Ai Orikasa (Pururun), Ikuya Sawaki (Kitsunezuka Ko’on-no-Kami), Naoki Tatsuta (Karasu Gennarisai) and Kenyu Horiuchi (Narrator). Seiichiro Yamashita joins the cast as Sukashii, taking over the role from Jurota Kosugi, his senior at the same talent agency.

In addition, Red Duns Game recently conducted exclusive interviews with voice artists Kappei Yamaguchi, Ai Orikasa, and Seiichiro Yamashita as they rejoin the show for its 35th anniversary celebration.

■ Kappei Yamaguchi (Yattarou)

How did it feel to record Yattarou’s voice again after so long?

Kappei Yamaguchi expresses his excitement about reprising his role as Yattarou in the game, stating that it’s one of his foundational roles. He recalls feeling ecstatic when he first learned about the project and now being overjoyed that it’s coming to life. What particularly caught his attention was discovering the game is being developed in the Netherlands! He shares his joy at saying “Tenkamuteki no Daishōri!!” (Unrivaled, ultimate victory!!) once more and expresses his deep affection for Yattarou.

As a gamer, stepping back into this beloved game world felt like slipping on an old, familiar pair of gloves. It was amazing to be reunited with the original cast, their voices bringing the characters I’ve grown attached to back to life. And let me tell you, I couldn’t help but feel a bit of excitement when I heard Seiichiro Yamashita will be voicing Sukashii! I can’t wait to see how he breathes new life into this iconic character.

“Listening to Kon-chan (Ko’on-no-Kami) and Gen-chan (Gennarisai) chat, Kenyū-san’s humorous commentary, and the Nyankī squad’s unique intros made me feel like I was back in the recording studio from long ago. The trailer not only replicated the original animation style accurately but also showcased the passion and commitment of the Dutch development team. Lastly, a huge shout-out to Seiichiro Yamashita for giving Sukashii life!

How do you feel about the 35th anniversary of Kyatto Ninden Teyandee, a show that’s still cherished not just in Japan, but also internationally, as Samurai Pizza Cats?

■ Ai Orikasa (Pururun)

How did it feel to record Pururun’s voice again after so long?

“The visuals in the game truly touched my heart, showcasing the team’s dedication for this series. Their enthusiasm really put a smile on my face. Watching Ko-on-no-Kami and Gennarisai interact was thrilling, and it felt great to say Pururun’s signature phrase again.
