3 Doors Down’s Brad Arnold Battles Stage 4 Kidney Cancer: Tour Cancelled

Brad Arnold is sharing a major health update.

3 Doors Down’s lead singer has disclosed that he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer, which he shared with fans on May 7.

Approximately two weeks ago, I fell ill and subsequently sought medical attention at the hospital. During my visit, they performed some tests and ultimately diagnosed me with clear cell renal carcinoma, which is a type of kidney cancer.

To clarify, Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma refers to a specific kind of kidney cancer that impacts the tiny tubes responsible for filtering waste from your bloodstream. This type of kidney cancer is recognized as the most prevalent one, as per the Cleveland Clinic.

Additionally, Brad clarified that the cancer had spread to his lungs, which equates to him being diagnosed with stage 4.

Apart from some unfortunate news, Brad shared that sadly, the band would need to call off their planned summer tour, starting from May 15th in Florida.

In the face of challenging health news, I, as a lifestyle enthusiast, find myself echoing the courageous words of the “Kryptonite” artist. He expressed that he’s “not afraid at all,” a testament to his resilience. I urge all of us to send positive thoughts and prayers to him and his family during this time, standing together in solidarity.

“We serve a mighty God and he can overcome anything,” Brad continued. “So, I have no fear.”

At the conclusion of his statement, the artist jokingly mentioned that he would be playing the 3 Doors Down song “It’s Not My Time” repeatedly. The popular tune from 2008 contains the lyrics, “This might be the end for me / And everything I’m familiar with / But it’s not my time yet, I’m not quitting.

After receiving Brad’s health update, fellow musician Scott Stapp – who was scheduled to co-headline various venues with his band Creed during the summer tour alongside 3 Doors Down – expressed his support and well wishes in the comments section.

Scott’s message read: ‘I truly believe it is YOU who has the courage and resilience to tackle this challenge, my brother. Every day, I pray for you and your family. With Christ by our side, we can accomplish anything. And I think it’s safe to say that we are all lifting you up in prayer at this moment, holding firm to our faith in your full recovery! I hold you dear.’
