5 Coronation Street spoilers: Joel pays sinister visit to Lauren as Amy escapes Rowan

As a longtime Corrie fan who has seen more heartbreaks than I care to count, I can’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for Beth Tinker. Here she is, caught between two men – one who claims to love her and another who threatens her son’s career. It’s a classic soap opera dilemma if there ever was one!

It appears that justice may not be served next week, as the suspect, Joel Deering (Calum Lill), is expected to be freed from police detention. However, one might wonder who will assist Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), the victim in this case?

As Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) is harmed by Rowan Cunliffe’s (Emrhys Cooper) abhorrent behavior, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) faces difficulties.

And when will Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) affair with Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) be exposed?

I, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), find myself confronting Beth Tinker (Lisa George) as her snooping causes a stir. Meanwhile, the spirited teenager, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), dishes out some payback to Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).

Ultimately, it’s evident that Charlotte Jordan’s character, Daisy Midgeley, hasn’t quite let go of her old feelings for Rob Mallard’s character, Daniel Osbourne.

Here are all your Coronation Street spoilers from 26th – 30th August 2024.

5 Coronation Street spoilers next week

1. Joel Deering menaces Lauren Bolton again

As a cinephile, I find myself in an interesting position, Dee-Dee Bailey. I’ve got a fresh client on the horizon, and I can’t help but feel that your insight would be incredibly valuable to me in this situation. Would you be willing to lend your expertise?

Since Dee-Dee discovered her fiance Joel’s criminal actions, it’s reasonable to assume that she might have a lot on her mind over the next few weeks.

Detective Inspector Costello informs Detective Sergeant Swain (played by Vicky Myers) that there isn’t sufficient proof to keep Joel in custody. Thus, with visible tension, Sergeant Swain communicates to Joel that he is now a free man.

At the same time, Daniel questions Lisa regarding the gossip that Joel covertly gave drugs to Lauren with the intention of ending her pregnancy. Listening in with a sense of guilt, Betsy is present, while Lauren goes to the hospital to see her newborn son, Frankie.

However, Lauren is taken aback upon encountering Joel! Why is he present there at all? Could Joel pose a threat to Lauren once more? And is it possible that the authorities will eventually apprehend him and ensure justice?

2. Leanne Battersby torn over Amy Barlow as cheating Nick Tilsley and Toyah Habeeb play with fire

On their final day, Nick and Toyah are looking forward to spending quality time together. However, there’s a possibility that Leanne and Sam Blakeman (played by Jude Riordan) may come back home unexpectedly from their trip, potentially uncovering the secret of Nick and Toyah’s clandestine relationship.

Later on, Leanne goes looking for Rowan, who informs her that Amy will be performing an upload today and has second thoughts about funding the Institute’s resource center.

Rowan advises Leanne to rely on Nick for help, implying that she may be unaware of his infidelity.

During Amy’s upload, Leanne encourages her to share her past traumas to dispel the negativity. However, as Amy begins to open up, Leanne is taken aback when she discovers that Rowan is secretly recording their conversation.

Amy discloses her intention to discuss with her grandfather, Ken Barlow (William Roache), the matter of freeing up her inheritance for investment; however, Ken seems hesitant about it.

As the week progresses, Leanne maintains that Amy has reached readiness for her malware lesson. Amy, who is blindfolded, grows terrified as fellow members hurl insults at her, with Leanne reassuring her it’ll be worthwhile in due time. However, Amy becomes too overwhelmed and flees the scene.

Later on, Amy’s mother, Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford), along with Nick, confronted Rowan at the Chariot Square hotel. They were resolute on revealing his true identity. Tracy made it clear that they intended to share their story with the Gazette. Under pressure from Rowan, he urged Leanne to convince Amy to halt her retaliation.

He adds that Leanne is now senior management and her loyalty should be to the Institute, rather than to Amy. Leanne is torn, but what will she decide to do next?

3. Kit Green blackmails Beth Tinker

Beth is furious to discover that Sid is illegally peddling counterfeit T-shirts in the public square, pocketing the earnings, but when she sees this unfolding, she’s taken aback by the arrival of Kit.

Later on, Kit gives Beth some money and informs her that she needs to leave Weatherfield no later than the end of the week. If she fails to do so, he threatens to ruin her son Craig’s (Colson Smith) professional future.

In the subsequent events, Kirk Sutherland (portrayed by Andy Whyment) confesses to Beth that he cannot imagine life without her. Furthermore, Peanut, their dog, dons a neckerchief bearing the message ‘Marry Me’. However, the ominous sound of Kit’s blackmail lingering in her mind, will Beth consent?

Later on, Craig questions Sid regarding his interactions with Beth, but Sid pretends he doesn’t know anything about it. However, once Craig moves away, Sid phones Kit for a warning. Is Beth running scared now, or is Kit in trouble and might get caught up in something?

4. Spurned Betsy Swain frames Mason Radcliffe

Upon Mason’s arrival at the café, a shiver of recognition runs through me, Liam McCheyne. My spirits take a plunge as I overhear him telling Betsy about his plans to lease a place close by.

Betsy convinces Mason to skip his scheduled shift at Speed Daal and instead return to hers since her mother is working and they’d have the entire house all to themselves.

However, since Mason remained vague about future get-togethers, Betsy ended their relationship, and Mason saw her talking with Dylan. In a moment of frustration, he remarked that they seemed well-suited for one another.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I assure you, Mason, that Betsy and I are not an item. However, as the days unfold, it seems Betsy is intent on making her feelings for me crystal clear – evidently by planting a few dramatic kisses my way, all under Mason’s watchful gaze.

At Speed Daal, Betsy confesses that her intention was to provoke jealousy in Mason, but she’s left embarrassed when it becomes clear that he has no interest in her.

Betsy secretly takes a customer’s handbag, placing it into Mason’s coat so he gets blamed. When the customer realizes her bag is gone, she angrily scolds Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) and Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows).

While Mason dons his coat, it dawns on him that Betsy has tricked him; will he get caught with the handbag?

5. Daisy Midgeley struggles over Daniel Osbourne

Jenny Connor (played by Sally Ann Matthews) ponders over Kit’s relocation to Redbank, and remarks that it appears to be the apartment that Daisy and Daniel intended to purchase.

Ryan Connor notices Daisy’s unease upon hearing Daniel’s name. Could it be a hint that Daisy still harbors feelings for her former partner?
