6 EastEnders spoilers: Linda Carter gets ultimatum and Phil Mitchell’s secret exposed

As a longtime resident of Walford, I must say that the lives of the residents are never dull, especially during the holiday season. Let me break down what we can expect this Christmas on EastEnders:

Next week, a significant event arises due to Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) alcohol consumption. However, one must wonder about the implications for her upcoming journey.

In my humble opinion, as a film critic, I found that Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) cleverly exploits the trials faced by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), while Martin Fowler (James Bye) unfortunately slips up in this gripping tale.

Meanwhile, pregnant Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) receives a sign.

In response to her lover, Junior Knight (Micah Balfour), extending an invitation, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) decides to accept. Meanwhile, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) is fully immersed in enjoying the current season.

6 EastEnders spoilers for 9th – 12th December 2024

1. Linda Carter receives a big ultimatum as she hits new lows

Johnny Carter (played by Charlie Suff) feels deeply upset upon learning from his younger brother, Ollie (Harry Farr), about some troubling incidents related to their mother, Linda’s, intoxicated actions.

After getting drunk once more, Linda kicks out some patrons from The Queen Vic in full view of Ollie. Johnny talks to Linda about the consequences of her drinking habit, but she retaliates against him, gathering her belongings and leaving for a stay with Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

Sharon vows to aid Johnny and resolve issues with Linda, while simultaneously scolding Linda sternly. Linda responds by leaving for home, but ends up having an unpleasant run-in with Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris).

After attempting to purchase alcohol at the Minute Mart, Linda finds herself refused by Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie). In a moment of desperation, she decides to pilfer some instead. Eventually, Alfie notifies Johnny about the incident.

Meanwhile, Sharon’s house is robbed after Linda leaves the door open!

After difficult arguments with Alfie and Johnny, and causing distress to herself and those close to her, Linda resorts to drinking vodka heavily.

Overjoyed, it’s revealed that recovering alcoholics Phil and Lauren have proposed a gathering with Linda. Upon her acceptance, Johnny feels elated. (Alternatively, when Linda consents, Johnny is filled with joy.)

Upon their return from their honeymoon, Elaine Peacock (played by Harriet Thorpe) realizes how far Linda has fallen and promises to help her daughter regain the right path again.

Following a distressingly difficult day, I’ve come to understand that I can no longer support Linda’s behavior in the way I have been. Consequently, I’ve set a boundary for her by presenting an ultimatum.

What does Elaine say, and how will Linda respond?

2. Manipulative Nicola Mitchell uncovers a secret about Phil Mitchell

Nicola is gearing up for the debut of her newly-named bar, ‘Harry’s Barn’. Meanwhile, Teddy Mitchell finds himself smitten with Sharon following their shared evening.

The duo decides to inform their former partners Phil and Nicola about their attempt to make things work again. However, Nicola devises a plan to irritate Phil in order to sabotage the newly formed relationship.

The Mitchells gather at the bar launch, where Teddy warns Nicola against pulling any more stunts.

After unsuccessfully persuading Phil to help break up Teddy and Sharon, Nicola decides to pay Phil another visit with the hope of convincing him a second time. However, she encounters an unexpected situation upon arrival.

Initially, Philip instructs Nicola to leave, yet he finds solace in her assurance that his secret will remain confidential. However, this trust is betrayed when she divulges the secret to Sharon!

In an attempt to subtly influence Sharon’s feelings towards Teddy, I find myself strategically revealing certain observations, hoping to create tension between them. Meanwhile, Sharon seeks advice from Phil, paying him a visit in the process.

In a casual manner, Phil dismisses Nicola’s tale, yet Sharon senses there’s trouble brewing. Meanwhile, at Harry’s Barn, Nicola seems torn between Teddy and Sharon, and eventually confides in Teddy that she desires to reconcile their relationship, having undergone a change.

Eager to maintain the momentum, Nicola pays another visit to Phil, causing Sharon and Phil to become upset by her actions. Upon arriving at Teddy’s, they aim to reveal Nicola’s secret activities.

Following the argument, Phil finds himself growing even more detached from the Mitchell family. Noticing this, Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) sensitively approaches him, aiming to understand and resolve Phil’s predicament.

Phil shows no interest in what’s been presented, and it’s difficult for him to open up to a worried Jay. In search of guidance, Teddy reaches out to Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), hoping he can help reconcile with Phil and invites him over for Christmas.

Won’t it be expected that Phil will open up to his relatives and Nicola will carry on causing trouble now that she’s been thwarted?)

3. Martin Fowler makes an error with Ruby Allen

Martin heads to see his son Roman at the hospital, but a nurse prevents him due to a prior promise made to Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton), thereby keeping him from entering.

However, upon hearing about a shift in Roman’s health status from the doctor, Ruby promptly returns to Walford to locate Martin.

In a heated moment, Martin unfortunately misses the opportunity for reconciliation, and subsequently, he goes back to the hospital to express his apologies to Ruby.

Will Ruby hear Martin out, and will Roman be okay?

4. Lauren Branning gets a reality check

Peter Beale (Thomas Law) goes to the car dealership to see about Lauren, and she attributes her ailments to pregnancy.

However, since Lauren has been increasingly short-tempered, particularly towards Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), concern arises within her family regarding her wellbeing.

However, when Lauren feels the baby kick for the first time, she takes this as a sign.

Has Lauren had a reality check over her painkiller addiction?

5. Cindy Beale ditches family festivities for Junior Knight

Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, can’t contain his enthusiasm as he unveils the festive attire for the Beale family on their Eels Santa float.

However, following an intriguing proposition from boyfriend Junior, Cindy ends up skipping the gathering that Ian was eagerly anticipating. Now, what kind of excuses might cunning Cindy come up with in this situation?

On Christmas Day, it’s been verified that the infidelity of character Cindy will be revealed. This is because there exists a tape recording where she confesses to using Junior as a substitute for her former love, George Knight (Colin Salmon), whom she continues to harbor feelings for, and with whom she had an agreement.

6. Kim Fox is on a Christmas mission

In a fun and playful turn, Kim and Mo Harris (played by Laila Morse) assist the gentlemen of Walford in preparing for a unique charity calendar photo shoot that adds a touch of mischief to their appearances!

We think we can guess where this one is going, but this isn’t the only naughty task in Kim’s hands.

The bubbly character resorts to bribery to pull a choir together for the Christmas Eve concert.

Will Kim’s plotting work?
